USA Licence

Dear Shingo Seabass,

I have not bought a PES game since '09. The reason why is because the United States national team has always had fake player names, which, being American, really disappoints me. Here is what I want to see in PES 2012 regarding the USA licence:

- United States national team fully licenced with correct player names, kits, emblems, and real player faces for every single player on the national team (should be as of the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup)

- The following four MLS teams in the Other Leagues section: New York Red Bulls, LA Galaxy, D.C. United, FC Dallas

And as a little side note: put CSKA Moscow in the Other Leagues section also.

Best regards,
Lanre Badmus

LOL, requesting a US-Licence before we have all big european ones is like requesting all european American football licences before putting the NFL in...

BTW: I hope he ignores you... Cuz you come and request sth for the future while openly admitting that you didn't support (=buy) the game for years now. Before he listens to you who's more concerned about licences, I think the community hopes he will listen to really important calls for improvement. Go buy Fifa, if you want licences...

Truth

We need Bundesliga teams before any MLS sides. Hell bring back CSKA and Lokomotiv Moscow too.

Bundesliga won't be available for another three years, going by some reports, as Konami didn't respond in time after the expiry of the EA-DFL, so EA picked up the exclusive rights again.

Imo, there's no reason not to get as many licenses as possible when potentially available. If the USMNT and MLS can be picked up officially, then go for it. Same if we were talking about the Swiss Super League, Eerste Divisie, even (can't believe I'm saying this) the SPL! :^|

They also need to make an effort to keep the licenses for all the teams/leagues they acquire. It's not like modern systems can't handle the space and processing requirements. Unfortunately, Konami doesn't seem to be able to build consistently in this area (bringing back the extra league for us to modify was nice, but not the same as bringing in official leagues with at least partial licenses), so even if they did acquire the MLS license, it'd be gone or reduced the year after to make way for fictionally named teams from Andorra and Latvia (no offense to Andorrans or Latvians intended), or they'd find some other way to screw with things, like sticking them in an isolated mode, as they rather ridiculously have with Copa Libertadores sides and players.

Konami should strike a deal to collaborate with Sega or whoever makes FM now to get the off-the-field stuff sorted, or at least let us add our own leagues, teams, maybe even divisions without being forced to replace others.

Basically, just get all the licences that are available (and within the budget). I'm sure most PES fans would prefer official teams from a small relatively unknown league like Switzerland as mention above, than the fake second division teams we see in Master League.

Okay, if you don't like the thread, don't comment on it. Simple as that.

Yes, I agree with that last part. I would add MLS, Russian Premier League, Ukrainian Premier League, and the Portuguese Super Liga. We should be allowed to add a minimum of FOUR new leagues, not just two max.

With all the excellent option files out there there really is no need for this to be a deal breaker.

Also, if MLS was to be added officially it wouldn't be much fun to play as any of the teams as they are so so poor. Doubt you would have more than about 5 players rated above 70 and even that is being generous.

MLS isn't offered likely because of EA's quest for world dominance and exclusive licenscing agreements. I can't believe another NFL title cannot even be produced because of the agreement they stuck with the NFL. It is a dangerous business model for any other companies to compete with.

Not valid sorry, this is a public forum and if someone wants to reply they can, assuming its logical, which it is, you cant come on and demand stuff, suggest it, and give a valid reason to back it up. Why should we have MLS teams and the American National Team above Bundesliga teams, or even other european teams...

As someone who has bothered to create MLS OFs for a couple of years now, let me say that I don't think it's a priority with the way the game is currently structured (ie, 'Master League' & 'League' modes have explicit UEFA integration) to add something like MLS to the game. Adding MLS (or any non-UEFA league, for that matter) just doesn't really sync-up with the game format right now.

Now if, say, Konami were able to make adjustments and add something like a dual track Master League (integrating the Libertadores as an alternative continental competition, for example), that'd be a different story. Actually, that's something I'd like to see, assuming the licensing restrictions weren't burdensome. If that change were to be made, a whole slew of CONMEBOL clubs (and CONCACAF, which I think eventually will send clubs into the Libertadores a few years down the line) could be added to the game and there would be a logical outlet for playing with them in ML. The value of having non-UEFA clubs in the game would go up significantly.

The other priority I'd place would be to allow importation of any and all editing from the previous year's incarnation of the game, unlike the current import function, which excluded previous editing on blank/fake teams. If importing was comprehensive and, hopefully, logical, we really wouldn't need to have too much of a debate about adding clubs, since it would be relatively easy to turn editing over from whatever league you want year-to-year.

Amen to that. Hopefully in 2012 the import feature will work as you suggested. For instance the face edit mode in 2010 and 2011 was very different as 2011 offered additional facial options. So any build you did in 2010 your player ended up looking like a plastic surgery victim gone wrong. If they keep that the same for 2012 then the builds we currently have in the Chung, Edgar thread etc etc will hold true for next year.
