Hi guys,

just got my copy for the PC but I'm having problems with using the USB adapter for my PS2 controller. (i have the play.com one)

Its picked up in windows & appears to be working ok in the device manager, & it appears in the options section of PES5, so i selected it.

Still wont work though.

I tried re-installing the software that comes with it too!

Any Ideas??

Cheers

You have to configure the buttons in the Start-All programs-konami-pes5-settings...hope that works

cheers for the reply.

The buttons seem to be configured ok in the settings. I think its probably something to do with the drivers. i cant figure out how to uninstall them though!

any ideas?

Hi All,

First post.....

Do you get an error message when u try to launch game matey ?

I do if I leave a certain USB device plugged in and the game wont launch at all.

If this sounds familiar, try unplugging the USB device and leaving it out and restart....

Good luck

I'm having similar problems.

Problem is XP believes it is a PSX controller - which means it doesn't recognise the analogue thumbsticks. I know this is a recurring theme, but I can't find the answers on the forum anywhere

It sounds like other threads in here point to the Play.com drivers - I believe I uninstalled them and tried to get XP to recognise the new hardware automaticaly, searched for updated drivers etc. but still no luck.

Maybe there's something I'm just doing wrong. I've seen other threads in here talking about a guide to uninstalling the Play.com drivers - but can't find it. Can anyone help?

For info I sorted this out last night.

Uninstalled all drivers relating to the gamepad - plugged it back inot the USB ... let XP decide what it was (at this point still a PSX controller) ...

... and then the magic bit ...

... I pressed the button which switches on the analogue thumbsticks on the gamepad. Lo and behold the PC accepted it as a PS2 controller.

I feel stupid.

That's exactly what i did. The analogue sticks wouldn't work until I switched them on and now my PS2 controller is working brilliantly!

Do not install the software and it works fine.

There is a thread in the PC section somewhere with a link that shows how to uninstall the software.

the only problem is that the analogue thumstick works like an D-Pad, so you can't get all form it, for example soft diagonals...

It's not the same of having a Gamepad for PC with analogue stick!

Cheers
