I've declined to comment as I'm currently 2nd bottom. :'[ I have a game coming up at home to Vitesse soon though so I should be able to improve on my position. ;)

How the hell did you come back from 4-0 down by the way? :| You have some top secret tactic right?

In the wake of some recent developments, we are having a slight restructure regarding the players involved.

Due to the lack of an internet connection, Dan has had to pull out, and NEC will become controlled by whoever is appointed in-game.

Due to a complete disregard for any sort of courtesy, the decision has been taken by the majority to relieve Sean Harris (Top Gun) of his managerial duties, and his replacement, Yossi, will start tomorrow at Willem II.

Also, I would really appreciate it if everyone would try to make notes (at least match reports), so I can compile something worth reading in the wake of each session.

It's quite a lot of work, and I don't have time to make stuff up every week!

See you all tomorrow.

Excellent half-job Nifty, I'm looking forward to see the rest of it.

Ajax up next, I hope my dirty "portuguese" tactics work against them :shifty:

Breaking News: Vitesse manager Matt Connolly is closet Roda JC fan.
According to an anonymous source, Matt Connolly holds a season ticket in the Theo Pickée Stand and never misses a game. He can often be heard singing his favourite chant: "Piangerelli...woah...Piangerel li...woah...He's just a poor man's Claude! He plays like he's a fraud! Piangerelli...woah!" in anticipation of the arrival of the great Luigi Piangerelli. This news will come as a surprise to everyone, in particular the Vitesse fans, who may be a little suspicious about the recent loss to Roda JC where Vitesse were all over Roda in the first half, and really should have won the game.

The third round draw threw up a number of interesting encounters. NAC Breda travel to FC Den Bosch, current leaders of the Dutch First Division, whilst ADO Den Haag - who are second - will host Vitesse. Roda JC will be confident they can overcome a potential banana-skin and beat Dordrecht, whilst Excelsior face SC Cambuur, who are currently 14th in the Dutch First Division.

There are four top-flight ties, with the pick of the bunch seeing Ajax welcome AZ for a game that will see the leaders play fifth place. Also, expect fireworks in the other stand-out game, which has Sparta make the short trip across Rotterdam to visit Feyenoord - who have made a bright start to their league campaign.

Third-round games are scheduled to be played on 30th-31st October.

The story so far

Excelsior have scored at least three goals on five occasions already this season.

PSV have drawn three leagues games 0-0 (as well as one Champions' League game) thus far - more than throughout the entirety of last season.

Bonaventure Kalou has scored in 5 of his last 6 outings - scoring a total of 7 times during that period.

PSV are yet to concede a goal away from home.

Heracles drew their first four games of the season, equalling a Dutch league record.

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar leads the scoring charts, with 8 goals in only 6 starts, while Theo Janssen has been directly responsible for more goals than anyone else. The talismanic Vitesse midfielder has scored 6, and assisted a further 7 in just 8 games this season.

Excelsior and Vitesse boast the most lethal goal-threats, the former having netted 20 times and Vitesse bagging 18 in their 8 games so far. They do also, however, boast the worst defensive records in the league. Excelsior have conceded 23 times, and Vitesse have shipped 19 goals so far.

Sparta provide the least entertainment of all the clubs - their 8 games so far have produced only 14 goals in total.

Excelsior have salvaged 6 points from positions where they were losing at half-time - most notably, coming from 4-0 down on the opening day.
