No probs! :D

Do you happen to live in Iraq by any chance?
Seems like something is on fire outside.

(Please can you do something about changing the colour of the cursor in this writing box as it's very hard to see)

I'm sorry, but have you confused Rooney with Ronaldo? Can I just remind people that this is a 17 year old who has played a handful of games and only actually scored about 5 goals. The stats above belong to a proven striker who has scored a lot of goals on the domestic, European and International scene, not a teenager who has yet to prove anything other than the fact that he has the POTENTIAL to be a great striker.

I've created my version (which I'll post when I get home if I remember) with no stat higher than a 90. I think that the majority are in the 80's and I think that it represents him pretty well.

I think that you guys need to stop believing the hype and start looking at what the boy's actually done. Don't get me wrong, I think that he has every chance of BECOMING the player that's listed above, but not for a good few years yet. Just my opinion, but I'm guessing (well hoping at least!) that it's one shared by most football knowledgeable people.

I think that if the player creation centre is going to work (and it is a fantastic idea, and potentially a really useful tool) then it needs to have realistic stats that are updated as people improve, not some ridiculously high stats that reflect a player's potential, or are mearly a reflection of how a devout fan see's their heroes.

Sorry if this sounds negative, but this is a good site and I think that if the PCC is going to take off then it needs to be accurate and reliable. Any chance you could create some kind of average rating, and maybe that a player cannot be added until they have at least five different sets of stats added?

I must admit that I went overboard with my Rooney here (I'm not even an Everton fan!). I fully agree that his stats should be reduced in many areas. I really shouldn't have created him directly after the England - Turkey game! Bloody adrenaline!

I also think that after a player has received about 5 different suggestions for his stats, PESInsight should create a definitive, final player that becomes PESInsights 'Official' player and put them up on another thread.

I for one would rather have a more realistic player in my PES2 and it would be cool to know that most other PESInsighters had the same player in their game.

I'll try and edit my Roonster asap :)

i completely agree that rooney is nowhere near as good as the one you have there. he should have about one 90, about seven stats in the 80s and 1 or 2 stars at most. the only reason he is seen as a good player is that he is a promising one, no more than that. ill post my rooney soon enough and he has a good likeness too.

I cant belive this anybody who has watched rooney play all season will know that rooney is that good!!!!!!!!

Stu-pid, did you register on here just to complain about Rooney?
Don't you have anything else to contribute, like your own stats for him or anyone for that matter?

yeah pretty much. if there is one thing in this world that pisses me off, its the attitude of the british press and public towards its national squad. its not mentioned explicitly, but there's an expectation that the english will win every tournament they enter and that their players are the best. why? because they "invented the game". utter bilge. there are countries who deserve this expectation like brazil and germany. but england? when was the last time they won anything? and its this very expectation that prevents you from winning anything. if you had some humility like the other second tier countries then you might actually get somewhere.
and yes, im sure the other lad was only putting in huge stats as praise for rooney's performance against turkey and didnt mean them seriously and frankly i dont care, but as i said this attitude of the english really pisses me off.
anyway, i just had to get this off my chest, if youve read this far i'm surprised.

by the way, sorry stu-pid, but i felt i had to intervene there, hope youre of the same opinion as myself on the matter.

The plain truth is that every player in the English squad is worldclass and the reason most people expect us to win something soon is simple. There is absolutely no reason why not! I'm not saying that England have the best football team in the world, far from it, but we can play against the likes of Argentina and Brazil and can win (World Cup ring any bells?).

The players consistently play well at club level and produce world class football so why shouldn't they be able to do it at international level?

It might have something to do with the fact that the squad meet up so very infrequently and that they lack team spirit due to this. The amount of matches they have to play in the league can't help either. These aren't excuses, just facts.

You're right, we haven't won anything since 1966, but we are (almost) always their playing good football.

I think that expecting to win is the sign of any good team. You won't catch Brazil or Italy saying "Well, we would like to win, but it doesn't really matter, it's taking part that counts". That's just not the atttitude that is required at this level.

Think about it...

I'd agree with you on some points, England do have world class players but only a few. The certainly do not have a world class team. If they did they would do better at the tournaments wouldn't they?

Geronimo is very correct about the english press. They hype up the team that much that the country expects them to win things when they clearly haven't got a good enough team.

Phil Nevill anyone!!??

Ahem....Phil Neville...forgot about him....shit...

But I feel that winning tournaments is all well and good, but there are many top countries that have never won anything, such as Spain! Great players, great squad, haven't won jack shit!

There can only be one World Cup winner every four years and one Euro winner every two. The chances of winning these even if you play world class football are very slim.

Alright, not all of the English players are worldclass, but most of them are.

I live in Sweden at the moment and every time Sweden play, the press and the fans truely believe that they will win. It doesn't matter if it's San Marino (this saturday) or Argentina (1-1 World Cup). That's just the attitude that the players and fans need to keep going.

Lates!

mumpleaser, i am impressed by your calm and balanced reply, i was expecting the whole forum to be in uproar. oh well.
however, when i say world class, i mean world class, ie the best of the best or thereabouts. on the irish team for example: roy keane(R.I.P.), and damien duff. thats all for us. there are others who are close and might get there in the future, stephen carr, john o shea, robbie keane(that'll be the day) but only the one for us for now.
now england: michael owen. i'm sorry everbody but that's it for me. gerrard will be but isn't consistent enough yet. ferdinand will be, same applies. and of course, unless he goes the way of gazza, rooney will too. now before you say anything about mr. beckham, think about it. he is more hype than anything. a good crosser, decent technique, brilliant pr. he is slow, prone to bad spells, and makes an awful captain with all the leadership of roy keane's baby finger.
the key to a good international team that doesnt have that many world class players is spirit and guile, and a bit of cockiness thrown in. the english team have none of these qualities. spirit? not a chance, when there is bickering behind the scenes at a lot of the recent tournaments. guile, sometimes but its been blown out of proportion by the media with that whole english lion thing, reminds me of how the americans pore over their flag at any given opportunity. and finally, cockiness. the english have it in the wrong way, it seems misplaced. its like how the italian media talk of their team. while they have the right to do so, the english press do not.
a sign of hope though is the reaction to the quarter final exit in the last world cup, there wasn't the usual whinging and complaining and the public seem more willing to stick with the manager for a longer amount of tiime.
again, sorry to have bored you with my thesis here, but im bored at work

wot are u tlkin about since wen have u been an international manager for 1 thing micheal owen is overated so is ferdinand , the only person who has spirit and makes a quality captain is david beckham, he is the one who has been pullin england through these qualifiers and friendlies since b4 the world cup the only world class player england have is beckham mabe scholes and gerrard but they have there bad spells.

most of you are so over-reacting and really putting england down a bit to much. i agree england have bad players like rio ferdinand is a bag of shit he aint no 30 mil player. then we have trevor sinclair crud emile heskey pants. im sorry but we should not rely on a 17 yr old maybe fowler should be given a chance also alan smith. and the irish team do not have players who are world class or there abouts at all. roy keane! dont make me laugh he is THE MOST overatted player going. matt holland is much better! damien duff he's had how many good season's 1 or 2 maybe? steven reid is a good player and hopefully will get better. yeah also beckham isn't the best he's noware near one of the best but he's good enough. gerrard have you all forgot hes only 21! scholes 4 me is the best english player. and he IS WORLD CLASS. owen is getting there too maybe hes already there remember 98 world cup? althou he was shit at the last one. and i hate are press (england) coz they heep loads of pressure on our team and our individual players e.g england rests on your left foot beckham! now thats sad :( see ya!

beckham is the best england player no doubt about it him and scholes, gerrard will get better but need to sort out the hollywood balls maybe ppl are gettin out of control with the irish world class players u cannot say that 1 irish player is in the same class as zidane figo beckham ronaldo van nistelrooy thats world class and if u think beckham isnt u need to keep watchin football even tho i hate him.

p.s Ronaldinho to the toon army with robert goin in the opposite direction bk to where that he blongs . if only
