Do I use the rip kit before or after I have applied my patch of choice? Also...what exactly does this ripkit do?

The ripkit enables to you to make a rip of your choice available for swap magic. (Thats is the retail rip, or the infamous P.I.M.P rip)

Well after 3 failed attempts last night i still haven't got this to work. I followed the instructions exactly as they were stated in the readme.txt but I still get the pink border when I insert the disc on the swap magic screen.

I extracted using isobuster all the files from my original image except:-
dummy.bin
data_f.afs
data_g.afs
data_i.afs
data_j.afs
data_s.afs
...and placed them in C:\WE7I. I then ran the WE7I batch file and it created the WE7I.iso file. I loaded that into CDMAGE (Mode1) as that is all you are able to do when importing, then "Save As" Mode2(2352) to get the Cue & Bin. Checked image with Eccregen and it was fine, opened cue sheet in Nero5 and burned at 4x speed. Cue sheet stated it was a 721MB disc but apparently that is ok?!

Put Swap Magic v2 in the PS2 - then put in my newly burned image and I get the pink border instead of the blue one! (Yes I am using the CD Swap Magic disc). So I have NO idea what I am doing wrong, nothing as far as I can tell.

Any advice?

All i can tell you is that you are doing it wrong! I mean, to be honest, it does work!

I have tried following the instructions fully but it never seems to work when I try and boot the game up. At the swap magic screen it just shows me the purple background which generally means you are loading the wrong type of game. Do I use the KonsoleForce ripkit on the pimp release first? I did this last night and it replaces all the other languages to a file size of 1, only the Data_J.afs was 500+MB (I haven't tried to burn this yet though). If I use JayJay's no mod rip kit on the pimp release I still get all the languages at 500+MB when I'm done (This isn't working after 4 attempts). Can you let me know what file sizes you have in your bin file? If you are only meant to have 1 500+MB Data_x.afs file then obviously I need to run the KF ripkit first.

If you have the net rip, apply this ripkit, it is jay-jays ripkit. Dont apply KonsoleForce at all.

Its for an english rip. Its a Jay Jays Ripkit and it for the specific english rip.

OK - Let me clear this up. For those who have net rips of WE7i Japan, (the international stands for multiple languages) So the english language, or the data_e.afs, although the other langauges may appear, the english rip of we7i japan game will only work. Any other language will not.

No, all you need to do is resize the dummy.bin file to 0 in size.

Its just an theory I had. Unsure if it works! - Import it over the other dummy.bin and save it as .bin from save as!
