WE8 Master League Info.

Im AC Milan and the only players who's stats increase are Pirlo,Tomasson,Gattuso and Kaka?...........any thoughts on why no one else improves?

Either they ain't got enough matches under their belt or are past their Peak ( 28-30 yearsold ).

Hmm, could be many reasons, maybe there´s a maximum for every player and all Milan players have already reached it at default, they are already quite good. Maybe it takes more matches and good appearances for some players than for others, eg a less talented player needs more time to improve his skills than eg Kaka or Pirlo. Could also be like Gunplay says, but I doubt that most players of the team are too old.

gunplay is right. i'm playing with ACMilan now, and only the younger players can improve their stats (throughout the season). as a matter of fact, Shevchenko and the older players' stats decline after each season...and i haven't figured out how to navigate these japanese transfer menus!

I would guess just to play them as much as possible. I hear off-seasons are particularly useful. My guess is that performance in games is also important - players who maybe get a 6.5 - 7+ in games as individual gradings seem to have a good chance to be improved.

besides you can put your team straight into first division, sparing you the ridiculous 2nd division (if you want to start with a top team).

that`s also correct. additionally you can control and emphasize the types of skills that will get improved buy directly trying to stress them in during the match with your favourite player.
f.ex. you want to increase somebody`s strength and ball handling, so during the match make sure you win the majority of your duels and show good ball skills (or feints or positive dribblings) with that same player.
with young talents a grading of 6.0-6.5 is enough to raise skills whereas with very skilled players it takes a 7.0-8.0 to achieve maximum improvements. but keep in mind, IF the player reached the plateau of his learning curve he will NOT improve anymore, no matter HOW old he is (one ex.: ronaldinho in my season is still just 26y.o. but he is not improving anymore as he reached the peak of his curve).

now, the transfer system and points. You have the same basic options, buy, loan, and trade; same as before, pick the team, pick the player you want, and somehow it generates a transfer fee number depending on what you want to do. You also have to take note of which teams are available to choose, because if the team your favourite player is in is NOT in any of the four leagues, you must search for him, using the search function, and it he will be shown as not in a team so you can't trade for him, you have to buy him. There is also a free agent icon within the team selections, so getting players on free transfer is easier, I've seen Lampard and Mutu in there, as well as many other good players, so be sure to check it frequently. For the points system, this time you don't pay your salaries every week, instead it adds up the total salary points of your entire team and you have to pay it at the end of your off-season negotiations, so DON'T overspend in the offseason, trust me, I didn't know and I got game-over the first time I tried the ML 800 points for a win and 400 for a draw in Division 2 and 1000 win and 500 draw in Division 1, 40 points per goal

I've got al small question... you mention that there is a free transfer icon in the master league. Is that when you search for a player by team and then go to the team nexto the edited team? the strange thing is that I still have to pay 4000 pts for a average player.. so not for free!??!? Can you pls help me? grtz kooynami

Just wanted to know if it is true about being called up to your national team and how that would work for a team say like JAMAICA. With in the game J.A. probably has enough players to just fill the team roster so does the game generate more created players with J.A. nationality for example so the team has choice in who to call up. Know what I mean.

Hi! I have a question for those of you who have played WE8i and it pertains to the master league mode. I have only play WE6i and that was 2 years ago, and i absolutely love the master league mode. However, i found it sucks that u can only set the match to 5 minutes (real time) per half and it seems to me that the match went by too fast. I was just wondering if the ML is still set that way in WEi8 or can u play the whole 45 minutes match now in the master league mode? I hate it when I have a roster full of superstars in the ML but because the game finished so fast, it really took my enjoyment out of the game. I was just wondering if Konami allows you to play a whole 45 minutes match now in the master league?
