I haven't had a crash except during the match. Tried it 3 times during and crashed every time. Played about 7 exhibition matches and it didn't crash before the matches.

To be honest mate, I'd suggest you don't play a competition with this patch. Go with the reefur or sunjun one. Wait for an update before using this patch competitively.
I cant understand that zyg so say you choose an exhibition match then you choose the 2 teams then player settings appears for the first time , then the you choose the kits then the next screen where you can pick your formation and turn the entrance on or off yours dosen't crash if you go back into player settings at this point before starting the game ? ive tried doing this in exhibiton games and cup and i dont get a black screen it just freezes any ideas why yours dosent ?

I don't go back into player settings at that point as it's already fixed from a couple of screens earler. If I did go basck in, I assume it would crash the same as yours.

How was the tournie? Which patch did you use and how did you get on?

Cheers Zyg yes the tourny went well we used reefurs patch as the we play is 4 or us take a team then we leave all the other teams cpu , then each persons game you play the other 3 human players in turn who take charge of a cpu team against you if you get my dift , this is why it was impossible to play with the british patch , i really hope somebody susses this problem out quickly with the player settings bug cause we where really looking forward to playing a last 32 fa cup type tourny

It could be an oversight by the makers. I'll check it out and if nobody else has mentioned it, I'll pass it on.

Hi all ive found that the crashing bug is in the J_text.afs file so ive replaced it with sunjuns J_text file and now theres no crashing just means that you have suns menu screens which are close to original game anyways. As for giggs he has the same likeness of kezman chelsea its easy to change , ive also noticed that all the player call names are turned off is this patch i can understand the lower division clubs being turned off as the players wont be there anyway , but theres no need for the prem league players to be turned off at least i can play a tourny with this now with a few mates

Alright everyone heres the fix, sorry about the delay as testing wasnt going to well and i have had problems getting the J_Text in the patch the to return to original size as it doesnt see it as corrupt. I wanted to make this fix ppf as well, so it would be easy for everyone to apply, but the smallest ppf i can make is 333 MB (349,580,477 bytes) :( so i have chose to release another DkZ patch with the files needed to fix original patch. Altho very tempted i have also not chose to include up to date transfers and kits as most people can insert these if they wish, but now its fixed i will be looking to add new transfers and kits in a future release.

Contents of the fix includes -

Ball names.
Team names redone.
Stadium names.
New stadium added over the new online stadium.(Deva Stadium - Chester City)
All stadiums now assigned to proper teams.
Many player numbers, shirt names and team formations fixed.
Some pitch textures have also been updated.
Crashing bug in player settings and cup has been fixed.
Database has been reworked and fixed (should be no more Autrian GKs in database :p).

Errors that still remain are -
Radar - Radar colours can not be assigned correctly to all the teams kit colours.
Some appearances may still be wrong due to the conversion of the database from PES4.
(I did my best to fix as many as possible)

WE8LE British Premier Patch 2004&05 (fix)

How to apply the patch to DVD version -

1) You will have to install DkZ Studio 0.81b (or newer version) which i have provided with the original patch.

2) Make an iso of your Original WE8LE DVD (SIZE - 2.31 GB (2,490,499,072 bytes)) and place a copy of the WE8LE.iso in a folder of its own on your HD.

3) Open DkZ Studio 0.81b and open the WE8LE_British_Premier_Patch_2004&05.dkz (482 MB (505,907,200 bytes)), untick the J_Text in DkZ, then choose Apply in Image file and select the WE8LE.iso you have placed in the folder.

4) Now select to apply it to DVD, while the patch is applying it may display warnings about descriptors table, just click ok for all them. After a while the process will be finished.

5) Now open the WE8LE_British_Premier_Patch_2004&05_(fix).dkz (13.5 MB (14,184,448 bytes)) and again choose Apply in Image file and select the WE8LE.iso you have placed in the folder.

6) When process is finished, close the update patch and open the WE8LE.iso that you have applied the patches too in DkZ and insert the fixed J_TEXT.AFS, OVER.AFS and SLPM_657.88 which i have included with the fix.

7) Now you can then burn the WE8LE.iso and enjoy the game.

ATTENTION - the use of any option file , other than the one we provided, is not advised.

Great Patch

I've just downloaded and patched WE8LE with this... It's quality! I have been waiting for something like this since I ever played PES, finally I can be the mighty Robins [STFC] in the Master League!

Great work guys! :D

If anyone is still sitting on the torrent for this, could they jump back on it? Only seems to be two folk grabbing it, both stuck at 16.4%, which means very soon, I'll be the same:)

J_text.afs

Whenever I try to import the J_TEXT.AFS from the fix into the ISO of WE8:LE with the British Patch on, it refuses to let me, saying it's too big and won't work. The other two files import fine, and the .dkz file patches fine, but the J_TEXT.AFS won't. Any ideas?

There are loads of links for this British patch, which one do you download ?

I have downloaded a couple of the files as I have recently purchasesd one of the those PS2 Max Drive memory sticks to transfer the data to my playstation for a tourney I am hosting for my mates on Friday.

Has anyone done this who could give me some advice?
