Playing with analogue take time to get used to it. Learning to play a new and more difficult game with a new control method will not be easy.

I always play with analogue because it is easier on the thumb and it seems that passes are more accurate using this method.

I use the D-pad coz I find it hard to get my directions right when passing and dribbling with the analog.

Always played with analogue in all PES games. The D-pad is pretty much defunct apart from Beat 'em up games.

Ive always used the d-pad, i just cant get used to the analogue. I use it for racing games like Grand Turismo thoe.

D-pad for sure. WE/PES is too hard with the analogue, it's harder to judge where you're dribbling and it just doesn't feel right.

Is it harder to use analogue in WE9, what with the new sidestep move (just pressing diagonal yea?)? I use analogue in WE8, but it can be frustrating passing in the wrong direction...

ALways been analog for me. Even way back on the PSX when the first DUalshocks come out.

I feel everything more fluid with analogs, and you can make subtle directional mistakes as well. (more realistic to me).

GOing back to D-pad nowadays, seems clunky to me, and so stiff/unnatural. Also analog is better on the hands.

Cheers.

I think the d-pad is superior in WE/PES. I am 99% sure that the directions 'between' the 8 directions possible on the D-pad do nothing, so using the analogue stick only increases your error margin. I switched to d-pad early on in my WE gaming and never looked back.

I'm reasonably certain that this isn't true, but feel free to test it on your own.
