Devastating, is a borderline understatement...Living in the US and being a fan of this game is torture. There were rumors a couple months ago, that WE9 wasn't even going to be released here. Pile that on top of having to read threads and reviews of how great PES5 is for months before we get our hands on WE9.

I understand why we get it so late...marketing strategy.

Konami doesn't want to compete with EA's FIFA, along with all the other sports titles between August - December in the states, and Feb-March has a nice lull before the baseball games come out.

Understanding and accepting are on two different levels...WE9 torture!

if you have a decent pc i recomend just buying PES5 for the PC, i don't and that's why i suffer

Or you could just chip your PS2 or Xbox...................

The PS2 even has simple things like HDAdvance and swap magic that make it possible to play PES5 on a NTSC machine without even opening your PS2.

As for the xbox, most modchips are solderless now and just go right in place, meaning you can chip your xbox with ease.

That was pretty much the only option when I had my PS2 otherwise I'd have beaten myself to death in impatience!

I don't trust the game stores (EB & GameStop) dates, because they don't want to turn away early pre-orders.

As I recall this is the same scenario as last year...the date was pushed back a month.

Konami have always had that Spring 2006 release date listed, it hasn't changed in 4 months. I don't trust any of the online store release dates. At the moment, I'm hoping for Feb 7th but wouldn't be surprised if it gets pushed back to early March.

I just looked at the best buy website and the 3/3/06 date is just for the xbox version. ps2 is listed as 2/10/06. Gamespot still says feb. 7, 2006 for both systems so i dont know who to believe. i think its best anyways to go to Fry's Electronics because i remember last year it was $10 cheaper than any other store that sold the game.

I believe last years game was released a little later than what sites were saying but I could be wrong.

I don't know why I always fall for that first date, you figure after all these years I would know better.

Hard to fight the hope of a game you love being released sooner than later.

Wolf, I am starting to sing your song...the WTF takes so long when so very little actually changes. It has been confirmed to me that the Roy Keane switch is not even made. We get the same roster and the same game...

Blah, blah, blah with Konami's marketing strategy. This game is proven and has a very loyal following. We would buy this game no matter when it was released.

I do have a decent PC, but I am a console gamer.

I much rather sit in front of my HD big screen (which I still thank my wife for), on my comfy couch, then in this hard chair staring at a 17" monitor.

release date is different from store date, it will probably be in stores on the 10th

if it is in fact released on the7th

He told me it doesn't look like they are making that 2/7 date. Granted, he does not work in the actual department that does the conversion, but he is more inside than I am and he has been dead on with this stuff in the past.

I can only take it for what it is worth considering his information is on the PC version, but I would think all 2 would drop around the same time, no?

Well all i can say is i hope your friend is wrong this time, but it would make sense to release both console versions at the same time, so we'll just have to wait and see.
