Ok this is how it works. There are 2 types of PES5 online games: games that you set the options for and games that your opponent sets the options for.
In games that you set the options for, you host the first half and your opponent hosts the 2nd half. In games that your opponent sets the options for, he hosts the first half and you host the 2nd half. Rule of thumb - if you are playing left to right ie: you are shooting at the goal to the right hand side of the screen, then you are the one hosting the game.
With me so far .........
So when you host a half ... you wont experience any lag cos you are playing on your PS2. its only when you are playing off the hosting of another PS2 that you will get lag. With online gaming its your UPLOAD speed that counts. The faster you upload the data, the faster your opponent can download it and thus the less amount of lag. Its not enough for you to have a fast upload and download ... your opponent must have a fast upload and download as well. With everyone out there getting broadband from all different types of providers and all having different speeds, lag is going to happen. unfortunately ....................
