This patch is the first that I have gotten to work (thanks to the useful instructions as the beginning), but I can honestly say that this has made the game a WHOLE lot better. I had actually sort of stopped playing until I had patched it, but this thing makes it practically a whole new game. Even my friends who don't play footy were amazed. The only two things I see which are even slightly off are the new postion names in the strategy page (which you can figure out with a little thought), and Real Madrid only have their away socks.
Every thing else is ace, jerseys, balls, stadiums, shoes. UNBELIEVABLE! Great stuff guys.

I got kind of a noob question here... Is it possible to use a DVD+R disc for this ? Or does it have to be DVD-R ??

Lucky for some swerve, I downloaded it then burnt it following all of the instructions on the page and then when I stick it in the disc tray it loads up then after the 'Playstation' logo appears it just freezes on a black screen.

Playstation can play both format DVD- and dvd+, I'm burning my patches on dvd+

And now for the usual question. Optionfile....Where can I get the best one for this PES5 version ? And how do I load it in without that memorycard transfer thingie ? (I've done it once, but I can't remember it)

WEmerica Patch V1 for PES5 never had an OF released,
other patches may need OF to add several in-game
modifications - mostly player stats, appearance, transfers
etc... in V1 most of this has been included within PES5 data files;

original para bin file has been modified (may have some errors
which is understandable being WEmerica's 1st PES5 patch).

WEmerica said he would release an OF for V1 - instead he
released patch V2 with para bin modifications aswell as OF.

Check the option files section.

The patch worked for me but all the kits remained unchanged. Everything else worked but sadly the kits remained the same as they were before patching.

What have i missed?

Depends what version you patched
WE9 + patch V6 or PES5 + patch V1

WE9+V6 requires the use of WEmerica's Option File v4.6,
it's included in patch folder, only for several teams not all,
as most are already included with patch.

PES5+V1 does not require a OF (mentioned in previous post),
if patched correctly kits should be the new ones.

...NOW...

if you are using a pre-patched WE9/PES5 Option File with your
patched WE9/PES5 game problems with the kits may happen;

Kits may appear > black, transparent, unchanged, messed up, etc...

To try and solve this without deleting Option File go to Edit Mode
and set desired or all team kits to Default, this should reset them
to the new patched kits.

If still having problems do not use the pre-patch OF,
create a new one (or use a recommended - OF by patch maker).

If it's not a OF problem then you MIGHT have left out 0_TEXT.afs
patched file when overwriting your original WE9/PES5 files.

Thanks I selected the each kit to default and it's perfect now.

I am going to patch another disc though because I left out one of the files so a lot of the text disc is not in English.

On the whole though a great patch!

Yo, that's pretty strange, that you can actually see something, then nothing. With all of my failures patching, I would imagine that maybe you went wrong in the order that you loaded them onto the generator. If you can afford it (not trying to be funny), try again, and maybe use some of the other patching tutorials to get it done, but the instructions on this thread worked for me. (also, how have you modded your ps2??? fliptop, swap, etc..)

Is this patch suppose to translate the team names in the menu as well? It hasnt for me, did i do something wrong? Also, is there a way to unlock the goodies in this game, like the previous OLE patch did for WE8LE? thanks

Has the constant playing of "You'll never be alone" been fixed? that got on my nerves constantly and have the blackburn kits been properly done with their sponsors and everything because in V2 that really pissed me off for not having an accurate kit.

Also, how would i get an option file on to my memory card using a cd-r? i heard theres a way, but not sure you go about doing it.

What version do you mean by V2?

PES5 V2 patch is a full revamp of PES5 V1 patch
which is the one mentioned in this thread, so how
could patch V1 have the kits and the chants fixed?

Anyway I've explained recently that the Liverpool chant is not
a licenced chant, licenced teams such as Chelsea, Barcelona do
have official in game chants, which will only be heard when playing
with the those teams... now Liverpool chants have been added/patched
to the generic chants section of english teams... which means you'll here 'you'll never walk alone' with all english teams, including the only
2 official english teams in PES5, Chelsea & Arsenal which as mentioned have there own chants but use the generic section aswell.

To solve this you need to find what slot the chant is in game data
and then apply a generic chant over it.

About CD to MC, make a search for CD2MEM.
