WENB Confirm PES 2009 patch on the 17th

We’ve just been informed that there will be an online update for PES 2009 on launch day. Precisely what this update will offer is still not clear at this moment in time but we are hoping that it may add something tasty.

Unfortunately this was down to EA buying some sort of licence which meant that Konami couldn't do any updated transfers after August 2nd. It just came down to who had the bigger wallet & it is the same old same old where EA came out on top in that fight.

Online squads will not be updated if you do the transfers yourself.

And oh, it better be free.

i cant imagine Konami would dare charge for the update as its not going to endear them to an already restless but loyal flock!!! i cant help but think this is a distraction from something on the official release day. or am i a cynic!!!:w00t

As it's an update I doubt highly they would charge for it. Based on previous occasions, it's likely an automatic update.

My personal feeling is gameplay/online issues rather than squad updates though...

It's all speculation as to the content of the update, so possibly a moot point. I would assume though that if an official squad update would be reflected in the online mode.
