This is the first time i've moaned about a pes, i think pro4 has'nt been updated as much as it should of been, grafically and gameplay. yeah they'v got licenses for 3 leagues now and they've added pointless fients to (not) confuse the opponants, sum freekick animations that seem pointless and are just for making replays look slightly better....oh and they'v played around with the passing system a bit...it looks as though konami have just consentrated on aquiring licenses rather than more importantly update the gameplay and grafix...

You can't complain about a game not being improved as much as it should have been when it hasn't been released and you haven't had the chance to play it........unless its fifa

how can you say that the gameplay and graphics aren't been updated, while the game isn't even out yet. Konami isn't giving us many information, so you can't know how much they change this year.

Nice for you... I think PES 4 will be great, with better gameplay and better graphics (not much, but enough). The free kicks feature looks great to me, just as most of the new features. I believe that Konami knows what the PES players want, they haven't dissapointed me yet, so why would they do it now. They know PES players care mostly about the gameplay instead of eyecandy. I don't understand how you can beat the game down like that, WE7/PES3 is still the best soccersim and with WE8/PES4 there will be a new master. Just wait and see...

Mitea,

We do get information about WE8/PES4. But as long as we can't actually play it, we can't tell if the features actually bring the game to a higher lever. To me the new features appear to be great, but as you can see we have all got our own ideas of this new features...

Hell no, I loved PES2 immidiately and knew I was playing the best soccersim ever (altough I think PES3 was more different from PES2 then PES2 was compared to PES1). When I played PES3 I knew the same thing, and in a while I'll be playing the best soccersim ever...

The main thing you've gotta remember is that the difference between PES and other footy games is the way you play it. Some of my mates that play F**A come round to mine and play PES can't even kick a ball or put a cross in, because its all about timing and your own skill. You can't tell how the game will feel from a video, how satisfying it'll be to shrug off a defender, whip a cross in and put a bullet header into the bottom left hand corner, all that comes with playing the game and its the reason I pick PES over F**A, the way te game interprets what I'm doing with my hands. So when I hear there's a new passing system and see on that video what looks like a tutorial into crossing the ball I get excited.

And that's the way it is....

That's all fine and dandy, but...we can do that in pes3 can't we? so does this mean we won't have to buy another pes/we again?

They'll have improved the gameplay is my point. You get people on this forum saying "F**A's shit all they improve are the graphics and the pointless animations" Then you see a video about PES4 and people are complaining about the lack of improvement in the graphics and the player animations. The only complaints I have about PES 3 is that in some instances you don't seem to have total control of your player and the passing of the ball. From press releases and info from this wonderful site* I have been informed that both of these have been improved.

*If the "boss" could see his way to a few extra points for this commendation I'd be grateful.

Do you mean me by "those people"? Because thats not how I feel about PES3 and the new PES4. It shows in all of my posts. I believe in Konami and I know they'll do it to me again....

The step up from pes2 to pes3 was great, it was different. I don't see much difference in pes4/we8 from looking at pes3, i just don't think they've updated as much as i'd of liked...the nets need working on for a start, then the pitch...it's still looks like carpet, take away the fients and freekick animations and u've basically got pes3, the only positive for me in we8/pes4 is the aquired licenses they have. But then again....perhaps i should have a lil more faith, i ope the shooting has improved i was sick of those outside of the foot hits when ya want an in swinger to bang in top corner.

I think you are wrong. Yes, they've used the same engine as in PES3, so don't except much changes on the graphical side. But the gameplay??? I think they have tweaked it again, to make it even beter. As Travis Bickle said, it's about the feeling. Play it, feel it and you'll see the changes. I really believe it will rock you if you liked PES3. They have improved it every year till now, so why do you think that they haven't done it again?

But I understand

The hint is in the title, it's an Evolution. Each new version is evolving, taking already perfect gameplay and tweaking bits, adding licenses, etc. Don't expect massive differences with every version, Pro Revolution Soccer doesn't quite go. For me the biggest difference came between PES1 & PES2, they fixed a lot of niggles that existed in PES1, whereas PES3 was a smoother transition from 2. I wish they'd bring back the excellent through ball from PES1 though.

cyrax you really have to stop double and triple posting. reply to everything in the same post please.

and on this issue... i think its fair to say most the people who have been playing pes for a while felt disapointed with the changes from pes to pes2... and very disapointed with pes2 to pes3... but this year it seems as though konami have actually made a big effort to update the game fully as opposed to just a few minor changes.

netbugler no way was the biggest difference between pes and pes2.... the biggest difference was quite clearly between isspe2 (last psone title) and pes (first ps2 title)... but i mean thats obvious. i dont expect to see such a jump again until the ps3, but pes4 is looking like being a much bigger jump than previously.
