Some people make a huge deal out of details such as "Low Socks" and "Untucked Shirts" etc, etc.. And although they have little to do with The Gameplay, this details are sometimes important features.
Personally, One of the Old Details/Features that I want back is the "Preset faces" and "Preset Hairstyles" and "Special Hairstyles". It was much better than the crappy-looking "Build Faces" that we currently have in PES09.
You could take the face of "Salpingidis" and change the Length and Width of the Face, change the hairstyle, add some "Facial Hair", and get a convincing version of George Best.
It was also useful for creating copies of players without affecting any team. You could copy Luis Figo without having to take Figo out of Inter Milan. You could create an all-star team, without having to take Kaka out of Milan or Messi from Barcelona.
This was possible in PES5 and PES6.. and for me personally, this is the Feature that I used the most in the Edit Mode.
With the use of "Preset Faces" and "Special Hairstyles" I created good-looking versions of Roberto Baggio, Carlos Valderrama, Marco Van Basten, Fernando Hierro.. plus the usual copy-paste of Zinedine Zidane and Dennis Bergkamp.
The Freedom it provided was great, you could chose any Face from any Individual, and you could tweak with the Face Dimensions (Width and Length), you could also add "Facial Hair" and many other things.
With over 200 "preset faces" and over 100 "preset hairstyles" you could basically create a good-looking version of any player. You had complete freedom in terms of Face Editing.
But those features are not available in any Next Gen Version of PES. We do not have "preset faces" anymore, nor "preset hairstyles", nor "special hairstyles".
In PES09, if I want to create a version of George Best.. the best I can do is take Salpingidis, change his name, and change his hairstyle -BUT- I cannot add "facial hair" and I cannot use "preset hairstyles". And I cannot copy-paste "Salpingidis". So in order to create George Best, I need to get rid of Salpingidis.
This is one of those Details that I would like to see back, it gives more depth to the Edit Mode. Plus "Preset aces" will always look miles better than "Build Faces".
Other than that..
How cool would it be to have the Old "Special Hairstyles" back; Roberto Baggio's trademark ponytail and Carlos Valderrama's trademark huge afro.. Zinedine Zidane's trademark hair.. etc, etc..
This are Two Individuals that I would like to see in High Def Graphics. How cool would it be to have Carlos Valderrama in-game and see his flamboyant hair bouncing up and down whenever he runs.. this would be a good way of highlighting the advancements in graphics.
As for example, with Cristiano Ronaldo, his hair never moves, and this would not "show" the progress made in graphics and movements.
With Carlos Valderrama on the other hand, like him or not, you have to admit that it would be cool to have a peculiar player like him in-game. His rare features such as the Huge Afro would "show" all the progress Konami has made in terms of Graphics and Movements.
I still remember the "Valderrama Hairstyle" in PES5, it looked like a helmet, the graphics where not good enough to achieve a decent-looking copy of Valderrama's Trademark Hairstyle.
I know nobody will care about this, but personally, I would like to see "Valderrama's Hairstyle" in PES 2010, with the Graphical Advances, it would be a great way of showing that progress.
If Konami included something like the Old "Special Hairstyles" -- like Valderrama's Enormous Afro, Roberto Baggio's Ponytail, Zinedine Zidane's trademark style, etc, etc..
If we had Editing Features such as "Preset Faces" and "Preset Hairstyles" and "Special Hairstyles". With such features we could create decent-looking imitations of almost anyone, maybe not identical, but much better than the current "build faces".
