Hey guys,

Just interested to know what game level people play when there playing PES ? There is beginner, amateur, regular etc ??

I switched from amateur to regular, and noticed a big difference, as soon as you get the ball, the other team attacks you big time and you have to act very quick....

i'm going to go down to amateur at the end of my current season because i'm not really getting any degree of enjoyment out of the game at the moment - even though i'm utterly hooked on BAL mode mind ;)

For me, even on regular mode, the super-defenders and super-goalie are just too much - i'd like to be able to score more than once every 15 games ...

Yeah I totally agree with you there Jason ! It is extremely hard to score on regular mode compared to amateur, and you can't enjoy it as much...
Looks like I have to finish off the season before I can switch back....

Thank you for reading.
I just switched from Professional to Top Player and am actually finding it easier on the toughest setting.

Top player, always have done.

I often switch it down to professional though, because I find it more difficult than top player....I suppose its down to the way the computer plays its football.

Top Player only. It is WAY too easy on any other level. And what's this about scoring more than once every 15 minutes...surely you're looking for some realism?

i 'm always playing top player and only in league modes i found it difficult like athletic bilbao is unbeaten but barca isnt anywhere near the best...since pro5 on ps2 until now on pes2009 im playing full stars - top player. but i hate when defenters like Cygan are faster than robben and steal the ball like piece of cake...

Once every 15 games .. not minutes :)

I know i don't know all the tricks, flicks and what-have-you's either ...

I might actually try top player mode for a game or two, just out of sheer curiosity ...

Heavens above I cannot read. Ha ... apologies. Well that is bad. Do top player for 5 games and let us know how you get on. The best strategy is passing and switching long balls from wing to wing, plenty of crossing. When you're running at defenders, do the "Johann Cruyff" type turn (just move the directional back and then forward) and also use the shot feint - square and then immediately x. Finally if you're stuck for a goal, win a corner and make sure your centre-backs are pushing up for the corner, knock it into the near post - usually get a goal.

Thanks for that .. i'll try some of those. I did score in the last european game actually, so at least that's something ...

I don't actually play any of the other modes at the moment - just BAL all the way really ..

Hello everybody

If you start at top-player at the beginning (what I did) then it's a bit difficult but you get used to it. I suggest everybody to play at top-player, like this it will be challenging for much longer and your pes skill will get better! It's also much more realistic

Top player, for me there is no other difficulty which poses any form of a decent challege. I hope Konami will release more than 5 difficulties in the next pes, In some of previous PES's there was an elusive 6th star difficulty...

Top player. I played for a while on Professional, but I don't agree with those who say Top player is easier. Specifically, how?

I've not definitively found a difference, but for me its the adjusting difficulty that causes me the most problems.

Like on top player the CPU closes you down more, puts more pressure on etc, and on professional they do less of this, so you have more time on the ball, right. So sometimes I panic and rush myself, because i've got more time lol

Writing it down it sounds so ridiculous, but I know exactly what i'm on about :cool:
