What is a good formation that can be used by different teams?

Most people choose countries like Brasil, France, England, The Netherlands and Italy, because the have fast players in defense and offence. Personly i like to play with teams that are not really so good, like Ukrain. And there is one thing that makes me wonder, i use for example the standard formation of Ukrain, and they do well with defending and have good attackers. Ofcourse it depends on your skills, but when i lose the ball and the opponent (one of my friends, and they are absolutly not bad) counters i still have no problems with defending, because my defenders are always coming back on time. But when i choose for example Italy with the same formation as Ukrain, i have suddenly problems with defending because my defenders dont come back on time. Especially the defenders on the left and right flanks. So, i was qurious if there are people who have tested different teams with the same formation/tactics, and succeded in finding a balanced formation? Because somehow i can not play with the same formation as Ukrain. I still looking for a balanced formation i can use for Ukrain as well for The Netherlands.

i guess 4-5-1 would be best then, especially with Italy Vieri all up front and totti behind him, then rest in defensive style behind them, on the counter, it hink would be best, but i like to play 4-3-3 with wingers defending aswell

Hmm ok, and how do you put the arrows? Because you can put players on defense: low, normal and high, same with the directions of the players (arrows). That's also what i like to know. What's a good combination. Using a sweeper, is that smart? Same with other tactic stuff that will have invluence. Thanks.

@PES4-fan, can you give me more information.

for example 4-4-2:

How do you put the arrows
And what about defense? low, normal or high?

That's what i like to know :)

I've experimented a lot with all possible combinations, default formations and my own custom ones and it's funny to admit that I always return to default one. Well not absolutely always with every team, but most of the time. Scheme 3-5-2 with 3 clear defenders 2 defensive(one of which may be more offensively biased) halfbacks 2 on the flanks 2 forwards and one offensive playmaker is so harmonic it fits each and every team, no matter if you play against cpu or human. It's very balanced, gives you stable defence and good attacking perspectives.
