What is the point of Leagues? International League?

I can not believe I had to play 36 games just to unlock Signori, Salas and Zamorano. It was so dull, there is no other incentive to play the leagues other than unlocking 3 or 4 players. Of which don't even come with a commentary name - so I may have well just created them and added them to their former club.

Anyway, the only thing I would like a league for is the International Teams. Is this possible?

Certain leagues you can edit the number of teams and whether you have club teams or international. So you could do your own international league, I'm just not sure which league/cup it is you can edit.

I completely agree with you. The Master League is a much better option. Do you adjust the Operation Costs? - To help with Player Development / Fitness / Negotiations / Popularity etc.?

The more successful you are, the more funds you'll have at your disposal. Using a created side my team ranking was 168th initially, I had around £12 million funds and little sponsorship bonuses. Just finished my 8th season and I have around £300 Mill in the pot come the end of the season. Player wages are my biggest drain, currently at £138 Million but come next season I'll have a few players contracts up for renewal and the total could pass £200,000,000. Operating cost's I've only allowed Club Doctor, Coach and Fan Club to reach level 5. The Rest I keep at 4 just too try and save some cash.

I love playing league mode and I only play league mode. It has it's own benefits. You hit the pitch much quicker compared to ML where there's so much more team management. There's also no player development so players don't grow to ridiculous stats. Also after you finish a season you can start a new one with a different team whereas the ML you'll be stuck with the same team and mostly the same players. And this year the CL is tied in very nicely too.

I don't care too much about team management, buying players or developing players. I just want to take my team and quickly hit the pitch to play some football. For people like me, league mode is perfect.

Agree with Stormrider. If I want a full Manager mode then there's other games out there for that (and FM is just brilliant).

BTW, how long does the League mode last? Is it unlimited or is there a time span?

It's infinite. I prefer starting fresh once I finish but if you're using a really bad team, you can try to qualify for Europe and that would make it worth continuing the next season to try and conquer Europe.

I did a league mode with the Bundesliga in 09. Though I have played a ML with Stuttgart in 010. What I did was I competed in the Eredivisie (very boring) I started in division 2 with the other 18 German teams I was promoted in the second year missed out by 2 points in the first year. My main problem though was that the AI would sell all its stars just to cover costs so in two years say a team like Bayern had sold nearly everyone and had a bunch of nobodys. League mode is a great way just to the league you truly interested in and the rosters dont change.
