I use a cheap Activ BB controller..bit heavier than the PS2 controller but it's shape is quite similar.
I believe there is no best controller than the PS2 one, so you can just buy a PS2-to-USB converter and use/buy a PS2 controller and play in the PC.

jelly1:

If you have previously played PES on a console, my advice is to use a controller that has the most resemblance to the concole controller.

For example, I played PES4 and 5 aloot on the Xbox. But when I played it on a PC I used a Logitech Gamepad. It was hellish, like playing a completely new game. The fact that the analog stick on the PC pad has a squared border, whilst trhe Xbox pad has a perfectly round border around the stick, makes it all that differently.

I finally just bought a cheap Xbox to PC converter and am now using my Xbox pad with my computer. It is lovely and works like a charm.

So if you can, get a pad that has the buttons and the shape of the analog sticks etc. as similarly as the thing you are used to. Otherwise you might loose any fast moves etc you are used to making.

Just my 2 cents. :)

I use the Xbox 360 Windows Controller. It's the best controller i've ever layed my hands on! My choice of controllers -- > Xbox 360 > PS2 > Xbox

i use the dualshock 2 with the usb adapter. I think this joypad is one of the greatest contributes that Sony ever gave to the gaming community.
