What new things have you guys uncovered so far? Gameplay wise?

I am in the US, so right now all i have to play with is the Demo, but so far i have discovered i think depending on the player, they can do no look passes! I just did a no look through ball to scholes(wtih ronaldo)! It was sick! Lets see fifa do that. I literaly just replayed it, and singled out ronaldo, when he was doing it, and the motions up to the pass are so realistic! He literaly out the corner of his eye spots out scholes, and then does a no look.


Anyways, i figured out also, that playing with manual control of changing of player is the way to go in this version. The offensive, and Defensive AI when you let them do some of the work for you is TONS better than before!

I suggest you guys give it a shot if you havent yet.

Realistic features, such as before the player executes a shot or cross they look up to where they want to shoot/cross and then look back down and execute it, i think that it a really good feature. also the shooting is a lot harder, but alot more satisfying when you hit the back of the net, but occasionally your passes go wayward, which isnt great, but something you have to live with.

Free kicks are harder aswell ( i have not even scored one yet!)

^^^ FOr the free kicks, i noticed the power bar is very sensitive, meaning that it doesnt take much to get it over the wall. Other than that it feels pretty normal to me, i've scored a couple so far(on the demo). the farther you get the easier it is to curve it.

ye but free kicks are really good this year, before you had trouble scoring a free kick with a really good player, now though i think konami have shown the dangers of near freekicks.

i havent even recieved a free kick yet.... but i aint played many games yet of the game..... i wanna kno how do you place/side foot a shot cus when im playing in the box my player will always go for a 100% power drive n it pisses me off when he misses or hits the post.

Not exactly new, but this PES is even more OBSESSED with diving headers than the last one... 90% of the time if the ball is at a volley height, they will diving header it. Sure volleying takes timing, but I nail the timing most of the time, only to see a chance wasted because my forward decides to fling himself to the floor instead of smashing it in the top corner. Really irritating and my only MAIN gripe with the new PES :|

Shooting at 90 degree angles is once again more realistic (i.e. doesn't fly in the top corner at some absurd angle like it used to). Shooting generally requires better positioning, it's a much more realistic experience... and one that I really, really like

Thats down to the individual player and how you control him. Players with a high jump and header ability will naturally favour doing so, but players who have high shooting technique will favour volleying. If your not timing the shots bang on for a perfect volley, the computer will react in that players favoured method.

I think the tendency in PES 09 is for players to head the ball, no matter what the shot technique is, players usually favour diving headers.

My obervation is otherwise. Ive been playing my BAL mode and my player at first almost always went for diving headers to start with as he had high jump/header. Once my shooting stats came up he no longer does so, and I have scored a few very peachy volleys.

I have noticed the same behaviour with normal PES game modes and players. Those with superb shooting volley more often than those with heading.

My Master league team is stacked with good shooters, yet they still seem to favour the diving header (in fact 1 has 54 header yet he still does it). I will stick with my theory and you can keep yours

Game is dependent on positioning (like real football).
Passing is really good as its based on positioning as well.
Shooting off wing/cutting in will reduce accuracy, depends on the player you are shooting with (stat wise).

Some moves can be doesn't with your movement pad (if you use the joystick or gamepad), somehow i did a side step cross-over type of move just by wiggling it back and forth (don't ask me, I've only done it once).

one thing that is blatently different is the shooting, like now you shoot alot more with the outside of your boot which is sometimes effective but also quite innoying since his accuraccy is poor

Fuck all really... couple more goal celebrations. Ohhh and that new stupid animation the players do when they are tackled. You know the one, they get taken down from behind and they fall back on there ass asif they have ran into a wall? Is that normal? I think not.

i don't believe you about the advantage rule, why would your game be different other peoples. I love the game more than most people on this forum, but by the sounds of it looking at some of your other posts i feel you are just convincing yourself every aspect of the game is perfect when it isnt and it is highly irritating. There are things wrong with like there was in pes1,2,3,4,5,6. This year the game is back. Forza i think you talk a lot of sense about the game and i agree with most of the things you say but i cant help feeling you say things for the sake of it sometimes
