What's you defensive "attitude" against human players?

Hi.
I was wondering how you people choose to defend against human players...

For example, how do you mark the opponent that has the ball?
Do you prefer to keep "x" pressed and ..whatever happens?
Do you follow him from a distance, waiting for his mistake?
Do you just cover space, trying to reduce his passing and shooting opportunities?

End especially, how do you face opponents, that use really a lot of dribbling?
I've found those people hard to face...
Trying to "follow" them, their constant movement makes me do wrong movements, which free their way...

Please post your views!
Thanks!

I prefer to take the pressure then break up the play and counter this dose not work all the time though and letting people get close before you tackle them leaves you open to a goal.

I back off, trying to cut out his passes whilst pressing :square: so one of the players also chase the guy with the ball. Works a lot of the time because he'll either have to go backwards, hoof it up there or have a run which usually results into them running into one of my players due to me backing off.

hi!

..and what if there is no second player near your opponent?(for example during a counter attack...)
what i mean is,how do face your opponent on 1vs1 ,when you don't have the luxury to call a second player for assistance?

The same. Keep backing off while pressing :square:, that way he basically has to shoot, if he doesn't you keep backing off a decent distance (assuming hes not TOO near the goal) waiting for your players to get back or a mistake e.g a slight touch too heavy where you can nick it back.

A very good tip for PES 5 and PES 5 only.
If you're 1 on 1 with an attacker:
------------------FOUL HIM------------
Works every time and because of this stupid game you can afford to foul whenever you want, because you will rarely see a red card.

P.S. I love PES 5 and it's without a doubt the best football game ever.

Use G's advice and the more you improve at controlling your defenders, and most importantly at knowing what your opponents can and will do, the less space you will have to give your attackers. The key is to know the risks, and to get a feel for the sliding scale between conservative defending which allows for opponent advancement and high risk aggressive defending which either steals the ball or ends in you getting burned :) Early in a game try being more conservative and watching how your opponent plays, and see just how comfortable you can get throughout the course of the game eliminating that conservative buffer zone. If you can take it away in big chunks it can really disrupt the overall attacking flow and fluster your opponents' defenses as well.

Sorry if that's a little bit too abstract but i think looking at it in this way has practical value.
