When do unlocked players appear in ML?

I am in the third season of Master League (WE9 on PS2), and in the early part of this season I went out to the WE Shop and spent a bunch of WEN to unlock all the classic teams and about half the players.

When the mid-season negotiations came around, none of the unlocked players appeared to be available anywhere. Do they appear at the start of the next full season?

Please don't tell me I have to start a new ML for them to appear... bleh.

Thanks in advance, and I apologize if I missed this topic somewhere. I used Search and looked around the hints section, but couldn't find anything.

on my game they come usually 2 to 3 seasons after i bought them in the shop. that's how it goes on my friends game as well.
