When will the PS3 go down in price in UK?

I played on a PS3 the other day and they are awesome. I went on F1:Championship Edition and it is so realistic. It's as if you are really in the driving seat of this super car zooming down the straight at Silverstone.

The problem is although I would love to buy a PS3, they are being sold in UK at a ridiculous price.

I was wondering when will PS3s be reduced in price in the UK and what the current bundle deals are to buy one today.

It won't, they've reduced the price all over the world, except here. That's because they've just added more into the Bundle pack.

Do they have any trade in shops over in Europe like we do here? Because I got about $150 American off my PS3 for trading in my PS2 and a bunch of games I don't play anymore. Ended up getting it for about $350 American after the $100 price drop over here.

In Virgin you can get a PS3 plus any 3 games for £425. Not bad really, but I couldn't see anything of interest.

Ahhhhh. I think I got about $50 American for mine. Over here they're still a big seller because of games like God of War II and that Guitar Hero 80's Edition, and Manhunt 2 coming out. I believe the PS2 is actually outselling the PS3 here but I think that will change with PS3's $100 price drop. Because now the PS3 is flying off the shelves like the Wii and I miraculously got my hands on one.

But now I'm pissed because of the 80G PS# with Motorstorm included coming out for the original $600 American price. I'm going to need a big harddrive for when the SOCOM online game comes out.

I haven't actually turned my PlayStation on for about 4 months so I don't see any point in getting the PS3. Especially as it's in excess of £400 - Who needs that blu-ray crap anyway?

All I know is 'just before Christmas', which I presume won't be December as it will be borderlining on too late for the Christmas market.

They may even have to bring it further forward for an October date as I'm sure GTA and PES will influence a lot of console purchases, and with the PS3 remaining at it's current price, I'm sure most will opt for a 360.

Your guess is as good as mine, but mid November seems most likely.

So no, I can't narrow it down specifically ;)

Gotta agree there.

I don't think Sony can afford not to drop the price of the PS3 after GTA4 and PES7/PES2008 are released.

If they don't, then a lot of the market will opt for an Xbox 360. And I really can't see Sony letting Microsoft get the upper hand over them over the first Christmas period since both consoles have been out.

It could turn out to be a complete disaster for them if they don't drop the price prior to Christmas.

Realistically, I can only see a £50-£75 price drop at the moment.
