Here are my games that I would like to see made into movies.

Final Fantasy VII

First of all there is 2 Final Fantasy movies - Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within and Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. However, many would say that The Spirits Within is not really a Final Fantasy. Most Final Fantasy games are completely unique and don't follow the predecessor but The Spirits Within does not follow anything that Final Fantasy usually carries through the next game. It just feels like a movie with the "Final Fantasy" name on it. As for Advent Children - a sequel to Final Fantasy VII has a poor plot. It is mostly about showing what Cloud vs. Sephiroth would look like in a CGI movie. It was kind of pointless. However, a movie on Final Fantasy VII would be great. The game has one of the greatest plots as well as complex plots in games. So much character development and even arguably the saddest scene in a game. It would look great on the big screen, the only problem would be trying to narrow it down to at least 3 hours.

Fahrenheit

I remember a few Christmas' ago I asked on a gaming forum what games I should get. Quite a few recommended Fahrenheit so I went out and bought it without knowing much about it and it was fantastic. It is about you (Lucas Kane) who murders someone at the beginning but after he has murdered the victim, Lucas suddenly can't believe what he is done and thinks there is something else that motivated him to kill. Anyway the game is him trying to find out what really happened that night while the other 2 characters (Carla Velanti and Tyler Miles) are police officers trying to track him down. The game takes quite a sudden change in genre about half way through. The only bad thing about the plot is near the end it seems a bit more rushed.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

I know there is a Metal Gear Solid movie being made but in my opinion, Snake Eater felt like the complete movie out of the 4 MGS. Metal Gear Solid remains my favourite but I feel Snake Eater has that overall cinematic feel to it whereas Metal Gear Solid 4 feels as if it has too much for it to be a movie.

Heavenly Sword

The game might have been a bit short but the game has movie material and as far as I know there had been another 2 planned (although wether they will be developed remains unlikely).

Assassin's Creed

In my opinion, the game was a bit of a let down but as for the plot I was very intrigued and the main objective which kept me playing the game. Even if you read reviews, watched trailers and read the development history, the start of the game is one hell of a plot twist that a lot of people never saw coming. At first I was disappointed at how it turned out but as the game went on and things were happening (I'm trying to not use spoilers) and the game ending on a cliff hanger. It leaves open as to what could happen next. Will it be completely different from Assassin's Creed? It could easily be.

There are some others I would like to see as a movie like Baldur's Gate, Lost Odyssey, Devil May Cry, God of War, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Ratchet & Clank, Perfect Dark, Ninja Gaiden etc but I'm too tired to go into detail for all these games. The ones I mentioned above I would like to see.

EDIT: Also I believe Mass Effect would be a good movie as well as Prince of Persia. I know the latter has a movie adaption and heres hoping that it goes well.

Thief.

What a film that would be?

Spore - a mutant species begin to form, evolve and then attempt to take over the galaxy.

Diablo - Our hero spends two-thirds of the film running back and forth from Tristram due to a lack of dungeon exits. To be fair, with the right atmosphere this would be superb.

They've only just started filming so not for another year yet. Summer 2009.

Thought I'd quote this to inform people it's now delayed until 2010.

There is a God Of War film currently in pre-production with Brett Ratner at the helm. Seems like most big games with half decent stories are being made into films. Hell, even Kane & Lynch (with Bruce Willis possibly starring)

Ratchet and Clank would be a good movie.
Uncharted would be good.
