Hey,

I'm a newbie to all this so bear with me pls. Basically I'm a big PES fan and currently own a PS2 but considering to buy an Xbox 360 or a PS3. What I would like to know is which is best for PES 2008? I'm also a fan of getting edited kits, boots etc. Considering this, could you give me your thoughts on which console is best for PES 2008 as it will have be a huge factor in my decision.

All opinions welcome, cheers.

i think i may try and get the game on the PS2 to be honest. people are complaining about a lot of lag on the 'next gen'.

also on the ps2 there is the fantasia mode!

What's the fantasia mode? That sounds magical? It sounds like it's about mops.

PS3 version has major performance issues I hear.

Best bet is to get it for PC

(depending on what u have in your PC)

Safest option is the PS2 version, although it seems that it's hardly changed from PES6.

Most of the things I've read about the PS3 version have been negative, but mainly down to the frame rate, which I have a feeling could be fixed by either changing the settings on the game or on the (HD) TV.

I don't think I've heard anything about the 360 version, but my brother has played it and he tells me it's fine.

I don't know really know about the PC version, but like Mat said, it depends on your PC.

if not much has changed from on ps2 i may look seriously into getting into it. as i thought pes 6 was better than 08 gameplay wise

New PES games always take you at least a week or 4 to get used to the new gameplay changes. Play next-gen PES 2008 for a month and I guarantee you will prefer it Danny.

the pc is next gen right?

i have been playing it and i just havent taken to it. i usually do straight away. add to it that they have taken away my fav option (fix player and player cam) then i am less than impressed!

You're right. Actually, for me, it's usually fine on the first day, then after that, I seem to struggle for about a month, until I've figured out how I can play my style of football. One of the tactical features I really missed in the last PES was "Covering" tactic, where you'd make a DMF "cover" any gaps in your own half. For example, if your right back goes on a run, the DMF will move a right to cover the RB position. That was so useful. Arrows are fine, but they don't seem to work as well.
