Keen to see your views on this, since the commentary has always been a sore point with pes.

I think it should be johnathan pearce :D we might get a bit of excitment in the game then.

I wouldn't mind having the same commentators back again. They aren't the problem. It's the scripting. If that was changed then I'm sure the commentary would be a whole lot better since the commentators would have a whole lot more to work with. Not some incoherent, badly translated English script.

If we were going to mix it up, however, I'd go for Jon Champion or maybe even Martin Tyler. BTW, the 'excited' Jap's name is Jon Kabira. :)

like someone said earlier its not whos commentating that really the problem

its things like how at the beginning of every game

you hear

"[TEAM] have started well do you think they could go on to win the match here?"

"well i dont know i think the two teams are just feeling each other out"

"sounds like youre expecting a close game"

SHUT THE F%*K UP!

I don't know if anyone else watches the games on Premiership Plus, anyways the 2 commentators Alan Parry and Brian Marwood are quite good. Five Live's Alan Green isn’t that bad either. Please not Jonathan Pearce, he use to commentate on Robot Wars, didn't he? I can't stand him.

Like PicturePerfect said, the real problem is with the scripting and that's what they really need to improve.

I'd like Barry Davies to do it. I remember his commentary on the Actua Soccer series was excellent.

Without doubt John Barnes. Have you heard him presenting on Channel 5? Shocking is being polite. Anyway i think he would be a laugh.

John Barnes was a Liverpool legend.

Any1 watch spannish football on sky i think that gerry amrstrong is a good co-comentator or even ray wilkins hes ok aswell, also that irish co-comentator on eurosport is really funny.

or even mark bright from bbc :(

I Would be quite happy with exactly the same commentary. Well.... That would be my opinion if theyannounced that Des Lynam was going to be the pundit. When he speaks on ITV he really does seem like he's starring in an advert for Embalming.

Barry Davies was good for actua soccer but dont think it'll work for PES. I don't think theres anything wrong with Peter Brackely, it's just he's says things at the wrong time. Like, 'it's been cleared by the defender' when the striker clears it from the half way line. IMHO, PES2 commentary is better than PES3, at least it's not as repeatitive.

The Jonathan Pearce one was done on the Dreamcast. I think Ron Atkinson was on one as well. Apart from that Martin Tyler and Clive Tylesly seem good try outs.

I would also go for a different dimension such as Andy Gray as the second commentator. Worth a try.
P.S. John Barnes??? I was crying when I heard his incredibly feeble attempt.

I never understood the fuss about the crappy commentary in PES games??? When I am playing the game, I'm too focused to even hear what the commentators are saying. It just doesnt register. I mean, who cares if they repeat themselves or talk rubbish.. I mean I'm happy enough with them calling the player names. That's it..

Tylers winning! I dont think that he is signed by any games company! Konami should make the scoop for both him and Andy Gray.
