Why has there never been a classic option file?

Dr. Bob Kelso

Welcome back...
I know it would take a bit of work and I would do it myself if I had a clue but surely it is something that everyone would be interested in ?

Anyone wants to do this or even explain to me what I would have to do then [post bellow.

I am aware that there are classic files that can be put on to cd but not all people can do this and I think the op file would be worth while.

In fact come to think about it would I not be able to make the Liverpool classic team then post the op file on here where someone could download add a side to it and the re post the op file ?

Would that work ?

That would work - but would you trust them enough to get it done and properly?

Well .... I wouldn't have much choice like. Each person could do there own side OBJECTIVELY.

You in ?

If you ask people who have made Option Files before then i'm sure you would get some of them interested.

I'm working on my WSAG Evolution V2 OF at the moment, but when it's finished i'd e willing to help out with a Classic OF, sounds like a great idea. I'll do the Everton side from the mid-eighties and contribute to other teams aswell.

First time I have seen the response and I'd lkie to thank you for offering to help.

There has been a vote on the Liverpool websites about our greatest team so I will take the side from there.

I'm all over the place at the moment but when I get time before the end of next week I will post the start op file as it were.

I like your idea but, as Tom mentioned, the problem is getting people to be realistic about stats.

I think there has been attempts at making such an option file before but there are a few unavoidable problems.

1) Which teams would you pick to be in the Option file? Filling up every league's team with their classic counterparts would be a huge undertaking in itself, naturally, so we'd have to pick six or seven teams per league, unless people actually end up submitting reliable classic squads of their home team, in which case you might end up with ten or more per league.

2) Choosing which players you'd pick for every classic team and what stats youd asign them.

3) Finding reliable people that will do their best to make the long arduous process as smooth and meticulous as possible.

Asking everyone to just post their team and stats would be ideal but it might turn out to be slower and very inaccurate.

This project would definitely need at least a half a dozen people, preferably all perfectionists, to have any chance of being done sometime this year. Each one would take over a league and it's classic teams.

Let's not forget that appearances would have to be made as well and maybe a little research into formations used.

It' s a lot of work.

Be worth it though . :p

Well I plan to create an OF for PES6. As for Liverpool, the majority of players have been created, most of which are accurate.

As for working as a team, this is a great idea. However if you've seen any of my creations I am a bit of a perfectionist and have found that working with a select few is the only option for me.

I have looked to create an OF for PES5 but as 6 is out quite soon I thought it best to wait...

I am in the States, and don't get PES6 for a looong time. Is it possible for you to make an option file for PES5/WE9?

Afraid not. What with exams & the WC, by the time I would be happy with it it would be too late into pes5's life. I don't really see the point releasing an OF only for 6 to come out a few months later.
