Gotta say the offsides on that games are impecable , they don't have the new rules but the offside rule on PES3 is perfect
and if you have trouble scoring one on one jus as your about to shoot come inside on the players good foot and shoot with as little power as possible always works for me

Yeah, thats true, offsides are pretty damn good, like when you get the replays and look carefully can clearly see if your man was offside, even seen the tightest of decisions. 1on1s arent bad...If I am through can more or less slot it in, its just bout timing and good execution and maybe a little luck sometimes. The only thing that bothers me really are the handballs and tackling/fouls/cards situation.

ere jackass ------ david james is no where near one of the best keepers in real life - fuk off - and im english. its not impossible to score from free kicks cos i can almost score free kicks every time. obviously the computer is going to score very fluky goals cos we score them all the time and its realistic that they score fluky goals . the keepers dont always save 1 on 1s.

Barthez has a Consistency stat value of 3 - maybe this makes him more prone to making mistakes? James should have a low value for this too.
The crappest teams in real life are getting quite far in Euro2004! How can you explain all the top teams getting knocked out so early? Maybe there should be a stat in the game for a whole team - like Teamwork but more collective. Then lowly teams like Greece can have a high Team stat which makes them better than the stats of the individual players.razor said:

England got punished a few times for doing that IRL (Brazil, France, Portugal) so maybe a solution is to score more. A 2-0 lead isn't that safe either but 3-0 should be. Too bad you lost but it happens sometimes. The game does make it difficult at times. And you have to try harder to beat it. At least now you get to try to win the World Cup again. Otherwise you may have thought it was too easy
I was playing the CPU in a Euro 2004 final match, me as England against CPU as Holland. At halft-time it was 2-0 to the oranges. I made a few tactical changes and managed to win it 3-2. Phew!
It's too bad about hitting the post that many times but it depends on what kind of chances they were. If you feel like the game is cheating, do what I do and dribble around the keeper and run it into an empty goal. It can't make you miss those! And those penalties sound strange too. I've never seen that happen (although my younger brother somtimes complains about it going the wrong way .... but only when he misses
) - If you press and hold the direction early enough and for long enough, it should go where you want it to. If the CPU is in a cheating mode, go for middle/low every time.Good luck next time!
I think Konami should have somewhat of a turn "catch-up" off. Especially when two humans play. It´s ridiculous too see how predictable some things are, especially if u play a lot against human opponents. In older versions it didn´t happen so clearly. This cpu cheating behaviour was not so clear in older versions of w11 and it was real fun and competitive playing against a friend. Normally ,the most inspired player would win and every match was a different experience. W11 used to be my multiplayer heaven.Not anymore. I play Konami games since 95( with SNES), had all my mates become experts too; did megacompetitions with them, had megafun in the process and now we simply don´t play the game.It´s not fun anymore.it´s not fair anymore. We cannot see who the best player of the day/night is. It´s a scripted game we play, and we all know that.We still play the game, but just to laugh a bit. It´s sad!

Frustrating control issues & bad English
I've played this game since the first PS version and I can't find a better representation of the game; FIFA is a long way behind. We all know that. However, just lately I've started losing my patience a bit. It's nothing to do with goalies, bad refs (swiss or otherwise), fast defenders or dodgy COM tactics; all those things are part of the charm and the experience. It's a smaller, yet far more frustrating problem. If the COM decides it's going to attack, it starts passing the ball up the field as I start swapping from player to player to find the best way to stop their passing game and intercept or tackle. Unfortunately there are times when the player best positioned to defend decides to either refuse to come under my control or, and replays confirm this, just run in the opposite direction! A stupid little hop back that defies physics and takes him out of contention to intercept. What's happening is that it has been pre determined that the COM will make 5 passes and take a shot and if anything gets in the way of this then expect mind boggling feats of athleticism from your defenders as they do everything to get out of their oponants way. Frequently passes to forwards or midfield players are negated by another lack of control; the player receiving the ball refuses to move towards it. Just standing still, regardless of supposedly being under my control, and not moving towards the pass until the pass is intercepted by the bloody COM team. It is problems like this that i find most frustrating. Ok, i'm vented.
Oh, and that bloke who keeps using words like 'da', 'dis', dat' etc: You sound like a cross between a German and a toddler. Learn some English.

people who are saying there is catch up logic or dodgy cheating cpu stuff are right....been playing master league and there are moments in the game that you just know the cpu are gonna score, they do this unstoppable routine which you just cannot stop...even if you make a tackle and think you've cleared they get it back....and either way they end up scoring. It does to an extent feel scripted.

You need to practice A LOT MORE!!
1/Free kicks are hard to score but not impossible! I score 2 out of 5 from free kicks with average players. With Beckham, I score 4 out of 5 every time!
2/On 1 on 1, I score with crappy players like Huylens, Castro... on 5*!
3/ with the default ML team (Huylens, Miranda...) I won the Division 2 on 5* (NOT a single new signing)
4/I consistently beat France, Brazil... with teams like Japan, Korea on 5*!
5/In real life, fast players like Henry, Ronaldo... don't always beat defenders in speed, right?
6/ When you lose, it is because you are NOT good, not because the game sucks!PRACTISE MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE!!
7/If you want easy game, then play football with your cat! You'll beat him every single time!!!

Sorry, but I don't think that the CPU has scripted goals. I do have the problem that sometimes it's hard to get conrol over the player I want at that split second. That's something I believe impossible to change in future soccersims.... Also true is that at some moments the player you selected refuses to go to the ball, he will not move an inch. But concerning de CPU scoring scripted goals....that's rubbish, it never happened to me. Ofcourse they pressure you more when they are behind, but they can be stopped if you're a good player...... Playing against other human players makes you a better player try it..... I love playing against other good, or better, very good players, because for me is that the moment to give a little show......... The game has its flaws, but it is the best game ever till WE8/PES4 comes out.....
