Why won't the knife trick work with new'ish PS2??? anyone

I have an old PS2 and it works fine but my bro
got one at xmas and it does'nt work.

As soon as you put the game in and slide the pin back, it looks and sounds like its working but
then it comes up please insert a ps2 disc???

Something fiddly where you use a knife to move a switch inside the PS2 so the CD-door opens and you can use a boot disk to load foreign/copied games.

you could always buy a ps2 flip top lid. although that means you have to cut a dirty big hole in your ps2's casing.

No it doesn't dude!
You unscrew the 8 or 10 screw underneath your PS2 case, take it off, put the flip top lid case on and put the screws back in.
Takes less than 10 minutes.
And you'll need a boot disk.

SLIDE CARD WORKS WITH MY Ps2 and ONLY BOUGHT IT ON SATURDAY SO THE NEW ONES DO ACCEPT KNIFE/SLIDE TRICK.

I dont think that will work on a european ps2????
unless ofcourse u live in europe????

there is an option on the site i ordered where you can select the boot disc format - pal or ntsc. pal for europe and ntsc for US. but of course u already knew that..
