will there be an online server in america

I live in the states(originally from ireland) and I was wondering does anyone know if konami will have a server in the US. I might be wrong but my thinking is that the closer you are to a server the better the quality of the online game, is this true?

The game uses a pear to pear system to play, but the main server I believe is in Japan with Konami. You can play with anyone around the world as there are no region restrictions as far as I know. With a p2p system it only really matters where your opponent is from rather where the main server is.

If u want to play online Soccer then FIFA is the only rational choice my friend......

PES 2009 online is utter garbage.....Think long and wise before u make ur move.

I am already seriously considering FIFA 09. I want to play the best game available on my pc and I am only loyal to the company (konami or EA) that produces the better game. I am waiting for what Dans review will say and also the reviews of the gaming community in general.

fifa 09 gameplay is quite boring, same as 07 and 08. PES is much more fun, dont listen to those ppl that keep saying online sucks. Yes, if u are playing against someone from freaking europe and you live in the U.S then it will lag, duh, any game will lag if u connect to someone thats 2,000 miles away... I played a game vs someone thats about 200 miles away and it was perfect, green vs green, no lag, every goal was beautiful. Konami should maybe add a special channel just for north americans, the "english" channel is full of ppl from england and malasia.

WOAH...

FIFA 09 on PC is a dog. Nothing like FIFA09 on 360, PS3. Stick with ProEv if ur a PC gamers mate.....just keep away from online.

Online aside, the game (PES 2009) is excellent this year although if u are a veteran of the series then u will most likely feel that the basic gameplay engine needs several more dimensions added to it.

In short...same old PES.....just a highly polished up version (except online).

P.S. Dont listen to Riverplate...PES 2009 online is a fucking shocker. ITs not just the lag....its also the fact that the difficulty is set to beginner and every game is therefore just a dribble the ball into the goal fest...

Online is utter shit....it will have u hating the game.

online is horrid, make sure u are alone so u don't beat anybody up.

there is no feeling more frustrating than building up your offense and getting a good chance that you would have scored had the game not lagged, then seeing the ball teleport to c.ronaldo and the kid you are playing against walk thru ur whole defense, walk the ball past your keeper(because teh difficulty is stuck on beginner) and score. Konami dropped the ball on this one, this will be the last PES I buy until they fix this.
