The match engine of WE/PES with the career mode of Sensible World Of Soccer (SWOS) and all its team and stats would create the Soccer god game.

Who agrees with me ?

SWOS rules. With all 9 billion teams on that game with Pro Evo gameplay wouldnt be bad at all :)

9 billion ? :) SWOS really had all the clubs affilated ti F.I.F.A but I dont think they are 9 billion hehe.

Just imagine a game like that, It would be infinitive, a paradise for statistic maniacs and kit editors etc etc .... and 100% longetivity in playing career mode.

Its just a question of disc space. SWOS had very simple graphics and sound, so most of the disc space could be used for teams and player data (which again was very simplistic).

Yeah, that was before the time that they game-makers had to buy the licences to use them in their games.

As far as I know, SWOS had correct player names. A previous version had funny nokami-inspired spellings though. Might be wrong though.

Plenty of SWOS sites over at
http://swos.hajas.org/links.htm

I tried playing it recently and it wasn't as fun as it used to be. Guess things have moved on since then :)

But I do agree with the thread title.

SWOS and all of the sensible soccer games on the Amiga had correct player and team names. I think the console versions didn't.

Jesss Forget for one moment of licenses ! and just think of SWOS s carrer mode being included in WE/PES.

For those who never saw SWOS it is an amiga500 game old 10 yrs or more and it s not the gameplay that is special but its career mode, it had all the leagues in the world as simple as that ALL.

Sorry, but SWOS was the best football game of all time. There was nothing more satisfactory than whipping in a low cross for an immense diving header, or curling one in diagonally from the edge of the D. It was so dependabley good, only trouble was Stanley Collymore was ridiculously overrated! Gimme Gazza, Romario or Hagi on it and I could beat anyone!

Yes there was, but SWOS was on the way out by then, what with the Playstation/N64 appearing soon after. SWOS's golden era was around 93-94.

Of course when we mention SWOS we mention that game we all knew on Amiga etc not the last one on playstation that had nothing to do with its earlier counterparts.

Anyway the point is the career mode that SWOS had, I just cant stop thinking of it as a part of WE/PES serious in future.

Ah sensi was pure magic and when it to evolved into Swos it was reborn
i hope konami do this to pro evo and give it a new way to play the master league

imagine pro evo with hundreds of teams and leagues with a decent managment side to it well and an editior to do with as we please to the strips ect ect

but konami dont listen they just make games the way they want and then expect us to buy great but ever so slightly flawed masterpieces

I had SWOS 97 season i think on the Amiga 500 it was one of the best football games ever due to the Career mode, I also have the same version on for my PC but i don't kno if it would still work on my pc now. I think the version after 97 had fake player names and you couldn't even do a Career mode either!!
