Hahaha, Well, Shankly I guess you haven't already undestood that we are talking about NEW GEN CONSOLES (New Gen Console: A console that can do more and better then a old gen one) and that we are talking about people who get paid ALL THE YEAR to make nothing more as we've already seen in past games.
Sorry Damien but how much do you know about the game design and development process? Let us take a few things into account:
- 1 year deadline
In game development terms this is nothing. Take a look at Half-Life 2, which is releasing EPISODIC COTENT (with about 2 hours worth of gameplay on at a time) at a minimum of every 6 months. This is without any online features and solely for PS3, 360, and Wii. Even a relatively straightforward FPS game takes over 2 years to put together properly at this level, and that is with a much larger budget and development team!
- Multiple consoles
Take the core PES 2009 development team once the design phase is complete. Then divide them between PS3, 360, PC, Wii, PS2, and PSP. That's alot of systems to divide a team over.
- Fixing issues
Before a game gets flamboyant it has to have its core solid. If you allow "feature creep" in the main game suffers, and that is absolutely the worst thing that can happen. I can only imagaine the time it must have taken to fix the technical issues from PES2008, before we even BEGIN on the design issues!
- Real players
How mahy players have the PES team individually modelled and tailored statistics to? This takes time in itself.
When you take these things into account you should be damn grateful to get a significantly improved edit feature plus 2 whole new game modes!!
