I really do not know how to put this into words but I will try.

Last night I could not wait for pes 2009.....now I think FIFA 09 may be the best game I have ever played.

This has been a strange day for me and my friend who both of us HATED FIFA and EA.....aboslutely hated their thrash. But no longer is it thrash.

How in the world FIFA 09 became this good is anybodies guess. It truly feels so strange to sayI like FIFA more then PES now. It is without a doub, the best Soccer/Football sim ever made. There I said it. Heres my tiny review of why I feel that way.

Presentation - 9.0...Very slick menus and it's easy to navigate.

Graphics - 9.7... The faces are OK and some are very good, not on pes level, however. When you are actually playing the game it is simply astonishing. I set up a game between England v Croatia ( me ) at Wembley, night, and rain. I may never forget that game in my life. The atmosphere was breathtaking, the way they fell to the ground, slipped, miskicked the ball, missed the ball and the way the water splashed is something I have never experienced before.

Sound - 9.5... Breathtaking atmosphere. Simple as that. Just like real football. Awesome soundtrack too.

GAMEPLAY - 9.3... Yuuuuup....how konami plans to top this is beyond me. The truest reincarnation of the most beloved sport.

Overall - 9.8...When you put all that together you have the best sports game to date. FIFA 09 will win many SPORTS GAME awards this year. Mark those words.

I still cannot believe how EA managed to pull this off.

You can be mad at me and say things to me all you want but know one thing about me: I give my money to who deserves it. Konami dont really deserve it. They are relying on there great gameplay engine to milk ppl for it. PES 2009 still has the gameplay, a little better or worse depending on the person, but FIFA 09 is certainly the most complete football package to date.

47 STADIUMS!

anyway....let me know how you feel if you want.

Your entitled to your view but....

Please look at the website, it clearly states PES Gaming. Not FIFA Gaming. Im sure there is a FIFA lovein site somewhere for you to post your review.

i think you're going a bit over the top to be honest. I cant lie, i've liked the pes games for years since getting ISS on the SNES which was far and away the best football game for the system, but i am no "fanboy". I am well aware that both konami and ea sports just want my money so im not overly loyal to a "brand", i just buy whichever game i feel is better which happens to always have been pro in years gone by

this year and last year i bought both. this year FIFA is good, as is pro. there really isnt much between them. The PES Become a Legend mode is much better than FIFAs overly short 4 game Ba a Pro career and is much more realistic imo. Yes, FIFA has more stadiums and official licenses but thats never impressed me. As i said, its a very good game, but your rather gushing review would make someone who has played neither believe FIFA is miles in front. It isnt, they are both good, solid games and there really is very little between them to be honest

I bought Pro on Fri morning when it came out and the excitement was no joke. I couldnt wait to get it home to play. But ill be honest when i played the first few games i was bitterly disappointed. I said id give it a few games cause i loved all the other pro evo's including pes2008. Now after playing the game for about a total of 10 hours, i think its the best Pro Evo to date. Its typical of konami. they make slight changes and it takes a while to get the hang of whats going on.

Overall i think the game play is brilliant compared to the fifa scrap and online this year actually works 95% which is the same for any game on line!

Im delighted with this years game.. it just gets better and better as you play it. and i cant say that for fifa!!

thats a good point. i have bought pro games in the past that, initially, i have been tempted to hand back for a refund as ive been convinced they are no better than the last edition. Then i play them for a while and after a few games i find that i prefer the new version after all. for some reason pro often takes a few games to get used to and, now that FIFA is a realistic competitor, i feel some people are bound to miss out as they will try one or two games on pro and one or two games on FIFA and opt to get the latter. If you give pro a good 15-20 games and still prefer FIFA then go for it, but if you give pro less games than this you might end up making a mistake!

Fifa is so much boring that i didnt complete the first game. PES however, and thats my own opeinion, is the best football game I have played ever.

I agree about each new Pro Evo taking time to get used to.

However, this is also definitely the case with Fifa as well. Especially for people like myself who are playing it for the first time in donkey's years (since the SNES actually). I too thought it was boring and generally pretty poor to start with. But after nearly a week of playing now, i have broke through and am starting to love it to bits. I've set the controls to pretty much identically match pro evo, and i'm starting to kick off. I love some of the passing moves you can put together. And the satisfaction of scoring past the computer on the very hardest setting is awesome, because it takes some doing!

to be honest I've not given PES a proper chance yet, mainly because I think FIFA is very good this year and in the games I've played on PES there's been too many things pissing me off. I.E.

- the goalkeepers have butterfingers
- the player movement are so unrealistic it hurts
- the pitch is enormous / the players look tiny on it

however, bravo for the graphic improvement on PES...

FIFA is good, but the cpu AI is not good, thats the only thing that bugs me, i really wanna play both (fifa, and pes) but every time i play fifa, the cpu attackers does nothing but try to go through my defenders from the center and shoot a placing on of my goal sides, all their goals are very the same, most of them i can say, but pes, the AI is way better, i feel i really have to think about their every move

See, i find the CPU on Fifa looks to get it out wide and cross all the time. I let in a fair few headers, although i've improved my timing and ability to get close to the striker to win more defensive headers. As far as the CPU AI in defence goes, i'd say it's more intelligent in FIFA. They can be rock hard to break down, on the hardest setting anyway. You really have to work the ball and do some quick give and goes to get through them. I still find in PES that you can do the same old time honoured techniques to score if you really need to, although it has become a bit harder.

Thread will be deleted very soon :D i know these EA sponsored self proclaimed pes fan spammers are confusing pes fans when pes defeated ea in terms of all sales record in all platform

when did PES 'defeat' FIFA sales on all platforms?

maybe this week it did, but overall PES won't come close, it never really does

I always have and always will love Pro Evo. It has brought ridiculous (and probably quite sad) amounts of enjoyment to my life. As an open minded person, i'm just giving credit where it's due ot EA for really working hard to improve FIFA after releasing some of the worst football games ever for so many years.

same as what i have been doin too, in no way am i saying go trade in your copy of pes for fifa, i'm not at all, its just this year, why not buy both games?

i have

and am loving it, and have posted my posts just to let others know incase they thought of writing fifa off straight away, thats all

i enjoy both games, fifa online ( 10 v 10, love it)
offline, no, its still too slow and dribblings crap, so gameplays still not upto pes standards

pes online, not so much as for me it seems to play different and thers summet not right with the tackling, offline tho, the same core pes gameplay is ther, solid, fun and total freedom football

Guys guys read my name...im still for pes and i hope pes 2010 is great. But like someone here said before....we dont own our loyalty to neither EA or KONAMI thye owe it to us. we neeed to buy the best product....simple as that. And FIFA 09 is simply the best soccer sim to date.

I still have not played pes 2009 but i will buy it i still have it on pre order.

if anything i ope pes 2010 is better then fifa 10....b/c i dont like EA. BUT FIFA 09 is just unreal....especially when u think about that EA made it.
