Another observation - Road to Wrestlemania Mode is the biggest crock of shit ever. In the elimination chamber match as Sheamus - I did what you wanted, but because I failed to beat someone outside the ring, in time, I have to start the whole match again? Fuck off.
I know what you mean.
As good as the Road to Wrestlemania mode is (I think it's very good to be honest), there's definitely some frustrations I have with it. The Sheamus story is probably my favourite, and it works superbly I think. However in general, it feels as if you're a passive character. Because, you're usually set instructions during a match such as "beat so and so", however despite putting in so much effort and time to really beat down your opponent, once you've reached that stage, a cutscene will appear in which you actually then receive a beat down and/or are pinned. It feels counter-productive to the work you've just put in, to the point where your work has little to no bearing on the actual story on some occasions. It's a shame really, as it's otherwise a really strong mode.
Anyway, is everyone still playing WWE '12 in general? I am for sure. I'm enjoying it just as much now, as I was when I first got the game believe it or not. I've not really bothered with the WWE Universe Mode though, and I just tend to stick to regular exhibition matches. I take pride in attempting to somewhat replicate television matches, in terms of effortless flow, nice reversals and tempo in the build up to the finish of the match. It's so satisfying to pull off a great, cinematic match, and having several finisher reversals right before the finale is just the cherry on the cake when it's pulled off right.
One particular match I've been having fun with is Daniel Bryan vs. CM Punk, and simply alternating between controlling the Superstars, and really getting a feel for their movesets, and putting a match together. They're both brilliant to use though, especially for their kicking variations.
