No Mercy To Return On The WiiWare Service?!!! Anyone remember WWF No Mercy? If you don't it was one of the greatest wrestling games ever. It released on the Nintendo 64 after AKI/THQ ditched making WCW games and made two of the best WWF wrestling games of all time. The games that the RAW Vs. Smackdown series have always failed in measuring up to.
1Up.com reports "THQ's WWF: No Mercy for the Nintendo 64 is coming back via the WiiWare service with completely updated rosters."
This means fans will get the chance to play the single greatest wrestling game of all time on the Nintendo Wii with the current WWE roster, which is freaking spectacular. In the underground gaming world, fans have managed to do hack downloads and upgrades on the N64 game incorporating new features such as ROH, TNA, and indy superstars as well as arenas and rings to the game.
Hopefully all of the great things that we loved about these games, including the ladder match, the extremely less complicated CAW mode, as well as the nigh-perfect grappling and combat system that other wrestling games have tried and failed to replicate will remain intact. That's actually one of the best things about the game. The smooth, controls that aren't too hard to adapt too. And continuing the match beyond one finisher as well. I'm very much looking forward to the return of No Mercy to the Wii.
If THQ is going to update the roster, that means that moves and finishers will need to be updated as well. But will they? Will anything else be updated? Will the graphics or entrance themes be updated or improved as well? It'd certainly be nice if they juiced it up some of the Wii. The updated wrestlers on the roster should come with their current theme music. What about the wrestlers on the roster who are no longer with the company? Will they remain in the game as well?
This is definitely an excellent idea by THQ, and it's even better if you already own or are looking to invest into a Wii, which remains the best next-gen console on the market. And sorry folks, that's the fact. Spin the crap whatever weigh you want, the PS3 is an over-priced brick. And that doesn't make me a fag.
