Its number one in the charts at the moment. I'm considering buying it, but I probably won’t. I haven't played a good wrestling game since WCW/NWO Revenge (Nintendo 64).

BELIEVE
Its the first wrestling game I have played on in years and I was happily suprised. I couldn't believe how much the game had developed since I last played on it to be honest. I reccommend that you play it sometime as its a superb game and well worth getting.

Graphics - 9.5/10 - They are just incredible for the PS2.
Sound - 9.5/10 - The sound of your clenched fist smashing off someones face is irresistable.
Gameplay - 9.5/10 - Just fits so well like a jigsaw and is very addictive which is a good thing (to an extent).

Overall - 9.5/10

After playing every Smackdown game from the start, I find this rather disappointing.

CAW - Excellent facial, physique animation. Attire is shocking though, not as good as Here comes the Pain or Shut your Mouth.
Season Mode - Ok
Gameplay - Not as good as it used to be, trys too hard to be innovative. And the finisher situation (with stored finisher) isn't very handy.
GM mode - Nice concept, boring as fook at times but ok.

Same here, I can't see why everyone is raving about this game. When I heard all the praise it was getting, I expected it to be revolutionary, but i've found it very disappointing. I'd give it a maximum of 7/10.

The stamina meter is completely ridiculous, when have you seen the likes of Rob van Dam, Shawn Michaels or Shelton Benjamin falling over having lost all energy after 1 minute? It's a good idea to have a stamina bar and makes it more realistic, but they have gone way over the top with it and they'd be better off scrapping the idea if they can't get it right.

The season mode is appaling, one season of boring feuds and matches is unacceptable. Not enough variation at all. A very lazy attempt. The voiceovers are pretty good, but that's about it.

The roster is well out of date, half of them are on the wrong brand and several new superstars have been left out. I've heard this is meant to be the biggest and impressive roster yet, not even close as far as i'm concerned.

Backstage matches are boring now. They used to be very enjoyable and one of the most impressive aspects of the Smackdown games with all the interaction with objects and weapons, but now you might find a kendo stick to hit your opponent with a few times, or be able to throw them into a vending machine, wow, impressive.

That post has put me off.
