MS always call these updates before a major update "Preperation for growth of the network" something along those lines, so nothing has changed.

Can anyone tell me about the failure stuff with the 360? I read somewhere that the failure rate is 33 percent. I want to get one but no thanks if it'll die on me after a couple of months. Also they say there is a new chip or something that is more reliable, is there any truth in it? Much appreciated.

I've heard about the new chip that makes it reliable. You hear some people who have had like 6 360's due to the RRoD inside a year, but, I know people who haven't had any problems 2 years down the line. I had mine for two years without it dying, and I had the old chip. I guess it's hit and miss, and probably depends on the location of the xbox.

The new Xbox Experience has been confirmed for 19th November for those who don't already know.
