Lag was intermittent, came and went. Just takes a little while longer to react to certain plays, passes etc, so you gotta just read them better. On the whole, its smooth enough to get a competative game on anyways. Another thing is, the client's download speed IS a factor too. I've noticed that when my connection has slowed to like 400/500 down, the game lags more, this is as client. When it's at full throttle 940 down I barely get lag, unless the host has got a really poor connection. So i dunno, its a bit both ways i guess. But must say lately whilst my connection has been behaving, its been ok.

Great few games against T1000 and hitman tonight.
I played as Newcastle against both - in preparation for the league I'm playing in. Learnt quite a bit, thanks guys. T1000 - how come you didn't invite me after we played?
hitman saw a lot of dodginess from Shay Given - missing some simple catches... and Shearer should have 3 at his place. damn.

Sorry Zyg, was too pissed off with what the patch has done (still am!!), its really messed the game up for me. Before this i was getting minimal lag as client except for a few really dodgy host connections. But now, i'm getting freezes and more delay and all kinds of weirdness. I need to play out of my skin just to keep the scoreline down, and hope it doesnt freeze too much. If this is how it is going to be, then sod it. Konami can go fck themselves.
Anyway, not gonna take anything away from you, well played mate. I'll try and host a game next time, see how that goes. But overall, not at all impressed with this patch. I think all they have tried to do is slow the game down in the hope that it synchronizes better with high/low connections etc, and I think they have added more bugs if anything. Ah well.

ahhhhhh man havent played online since the 3rd day i brought the game, i'm winning 4-2 with a couple minutes to go and my connection dies and i lose lol man thats just terrible

Robz, i've had a game crash on me to today, just before the end. There are many bugs in this patch I think, and again I will say it was better before the patch.

Good couple of games today Zyg. How was it running off my connection? Was difficult to tell, since you are pretty good anyways. The first 2 games were real close. The one where you hosted, i overestimated the lag situation and opted to play a stupid defensive formation which i've never tried, backfired. Cos the lag to my surprise wasn't there. Actually played alot better than last night, alot smoother. Just had the occasional screen freeze but, no, you got those 4 goals by good play, so no excuses from me.
I'll take it that it wont lag next time hopefully.

I had my first games against another forum member last night, playing against giftedgiggsy.....he hosted all the games, and he won all but one, but i can't blame lag as it was atleast 95% smooth.
He was Man U unsurprisingly, and played just like them, flowing attacking football down the wings, lethal finishing from Ruud or Scholes, and of course falling over everytime they got in the box (was it four pens in 5 games at home?) and injuring my key players (Dyer and Bellamy in the first half when i was Newcastle, and then campbell and henry in successive games as Arsenal)!!!!
But it was all good fun, and if you're out there Giggsy, i'd like a re-match sometime, maybe i can host as I might have more chance if i can get you Reds away from Old Trafford and get the ref out yer pocket!!!!

hehe np m8, as the night went on i got more and more tired ( my hands i mean
) which started to effect my defence as you started to score more goals - hopefully i can get some wins away from home but i know it will be difficult but if i had giggs and smith on red arrow i will have a chance - Alan Smith is absolutly leathal on red arrow OMG.

Thanks for playin giggsy. First game lagged big, but I think it was down to my connection, its not working well today. I mean it even lagged a bit when i hosted, well slowed down for me anyway. How did you find it? things have been so erratic on my line lately, as well as the patch doing strange things, just when i thought it was all improving..
I shall not be losing 8-0 with a functional connection, lol. Although from what I saw Smith looked good. But then my defenders were barely moving. Oh well.

yeh i had keane on grey and giggs on grey for both games but smith on red, when i joined your game it was only laggy when shooting and sometimes passing like a little delay - i felt i could have won the game i had 2 chances from about 2 yards out which i didn't take - but well played

bond, you should get pes4 as we8i is not for europe and won't run on your console (I'm assuming you're in europe).
There is no slowdown at all in the xbox version - just a few lag problems when being the client when playing online.
In future try to ask questions in other relevent threads or create a new one if you feel there isn't a relevent thread. Try not to hijack other discussions.

Alrite Zygalski, ur a pretty good player urself mate. They were some close matches and it's good to find people who will play as client aswell. I'm using PSV in a league so just tryin to get some practice in. We'll have to have a few matches soon mate. What time do u usually play?

If people are getting bad lag with me as host, I would expect that they would refuse to play again. And also if there is lag for me, I hoof it up the pitch, and don't tend to play short passes in defence which can get intercepted.
