both versions had their advantages with pro evo 4 , where as xbox graphics were fuzzy and ps2's were sharper there was not slowdown with the xbox version , are there any differences this time?

im not bothered about the control pads as you get used to them but is there any other differences in both versions???? only comments please from people who have seen or played both versions!!!

Hiya...I have bough both PS2 & XBOX versions, so basically my opions are as follows:

PS2: Original Controller + Superior (at present) network mode
XBOX: Excellent graphics (not blurry like PES4) + decentish online mode

Overall If I were to buy just 1 version, then I'd go for the XBOX version. The only drawback is that at the moment the XBOX Live lobby seems very empty, and it can prove very hard to get a game unless with a friend - but when you do get one, boy it is very smooth !!

However if you plan to play online most the time from the word go, then opt for the PS2 version as there are basically shit loads of people queing up for a game - there is slowdown though, even on a good connection, when things get busy in the goal area.

I've got the Xbox version, disappointed with the shoddy controls, the d-pad is rubbish. Very disorientating having played PES on ps for god knows how many years, even with my ps2 to xbox controller adapter it's rubbish because you cant swap the special controls button onto L2.

Getting it on PS2 at the end of the week though.

While I'm on the subject can anyone tell me how the screen lag is on ps2 when things get busy in the box offline?

thanks for the above , agreed about xbox live , Ive waited ages to get a game but when i do its superb , i liked it on pro evo 4 but 5 is even better!

I'm going to get pc version as well so when my beaver wants to watch the tele I can still play......

sad but lets face it , how many birds do you know who give you as much please as pro evo 5 except when they are assuming the position???

Xbox live is being redesigned this week so that's why there are very few people online. In next few weeks we should see heaps people on.

I tried PS2 online this week few times and it is just not as good as on live, even with people on good connections. Cap down though for good implementation of online mode for PS2, but it's not as playable as on Xbox. Plus there is a little slowdown offline when things get "busy" in the box on PS2. It's flawless on Xbox and on PC if you have a good one.

My recommendation is either Xbox or PC if you ask me.

I've got both versions, and the gamepaly on XBOX is better, but you can do more on the PS2. This is coz of the positioning of the R2 and L2 buttons. The black and white buttons are awrkwardly positioned.

But I would go for the XBOX coz the graphics and sounds are better, and also you don't have too wait ages for the game to load and save.

xbox.....better grafics, less bugs, better controls (I never liked the ps2 controller, my hands start hurting after an hour using the ps2 controller...too small for my big hands)
