thanks but about the gameplay on ps3 yeah right thats if the machine ever comes out
lol, he has a point. Just release PES or WE or whatever region free with the PS3 in Europe and i'll be happi(er); assuming you all know the news.

Moving on to the topic, prepare PC PES players because i'm gonna tear you apart online! PS2 vs. PC players is revolutionary for online play.

"We expanded the multiplay much more so if you have four consoles and two players on each console there’s a maximum of eight players for online. Also we decided to have the PC players and the PS2 players play for the first time together online."

It'll be interesting to see how PC users fair upto PS2 players. We know PC users have the advatage in FPS but in PES I bet'll be a different story. Then again people will probably use PC control pads or 360 pads to play. We'll see anyway. I can already see PS2 vs. PC tournaments online.

Some other interesting quotes:

"You aked about Live downloads - this is a little bit difficult issue. Once we have the license and political stuff sorted out we are trying to get the downloadable upgrades on your stats, teams, rosters, whatever. But this is all in our future plans."

So in PES7 we maybe seeing online content being available for download officially, such as transfers, stats, kits etc. once they clear up licences. So we could see official kit updates and recent transfer updates online available for download, and also player stats like Messi and Lennon on PES5 for example could be updated officially by KONAMI, or you could just do it yourself.

"Q: So up until January 1?

Saito: Yes. In a sense. If we’re going to release PES 7 next year during this time, yes it may be one year. But we never agreed that we were going to say that officially. It was kind of misleading and a misunderstanding. What we meant or agreed with Microsoft was this winter or this season for PES 6 – this is exclusive."

More clarification on that 'exclusuivity' deal.

"Q: Can I just expand on that. At E3 when we talked a PS3 version wasn’t even started. Has it started production, and as you said just now does it mean that theoretically we could have Winning Eleven 10 or PES 6 next spring on PS3?

Seabass: That’s no doubt. We already started, and I said in that interview I think that how we work as fair is that we don’t work on one console anymore. We work on the core and then we spread it out – we have this mentality.

So for next year, if the market is there. If the PS3 doesn’t ship this year, and there’s no users, there’s no meaning for us to present PS3. As long as we hear the users voice, and everyone wants it we will consider it. I already am considering that, and probably PS3 will be released, they’ll be good followers and fans. If it’s up to us, we’re going to deliver it."

You heard the man, if you want to see it on PS3, i'm thinking as a launch title more than ever now, then raise your voice! Everyone will be ready for a graphical update by then I imagine, I'm talkin PS2 users.

I think that's enough quotes and you have the link provided by red (thanks).

I expected this to be posted by a Sony fanboy and I expected them to make a comment that it will be better on the PS3. All I can say to that is even if it's better on PS3 it won't be by much and microsoft have the exclusive, so enjoy waiting..

it looks like even Seabass feels the game will play better on the PS3!
He's saying that solely because of the playstation controller, everyone knows it plays best with the playstation controller. There's no need to get any fanboys worked up.

Judging from the 360 videos released on the web, I'm not really blown away by the graphics engines, and was hoping that the PS3 would evetually be a true "next-gen" step in terms of graphics, but judging from his interview, the PS3 will have the same graphics engine and will simply "evolve" each year as has been the case over the last 5 years.

This really pisses me off - here you have 2 great next-gen consoles, and Konami are too lazy to build a decent grahics engine!

I foresee the same engine with "minor tweaks" each year, uncluding the same crap, cheap Jap Rock music and the same fucking cimmentator!

I fear that you are right, however if they keep making improvements with the online side of the game I think it will keep me happy, especially if it goes 11 v 11, then I can play it using player cam, which for me is the only way to appreciate the game graphically anyway.

You're right Red ... the gameplay is the only thing that PES seems to have which is really the major selling point - it just annoys me that there's a possibilty (judging from the Seabass Interview), that we will see a true next-gen graphics engine on the PS4 or XBOX 360 2!

Cat O' War!!
When I saw pes6 for x360, I thought, "damn this shit is ps2 graphics, slghtly sharper" if that's what we're getting as next-gen WE, then I'm getting FIFA 07 for x360, that's a true next-gen soccer game. I'm a WE lover, always been a konami soccer fan, since the days of ISS deluxe, but if this is the product konami has for us this time.... I dont know.

I dunno what people are expecting from a football game in terms of graphics. Compared to PES on the PS2, the HD videos of PES6 look a million times better.

It's football for christs sake. When was the last time you watched a game on TV and was wowed by what you saw? I think you'll find its never. If Konami can replicate this then its simply them doing what the like to do best...reflect realism.

yes but take fifa for example that game has a whole lot more leagues a bigger manager mode(master league) a whole lot more features and they can still make very beautiful graphics in the xbox360

konami is still using the same game engine and just making a few tweaks to the gameplay and making a poor job in terms of graphics when they can do a way better job because the xbox360 gives you more power.

But FIFA has been adding to all that except the gameplay and thats why it still sucks, without gameplay all the add-ons are just gimmicks. Gameplay is crucial and we all know that or we would be playing FIFA now. I think getting the engine right first is the best way to go and then gain licences etc. after. Its the only way PES could beat FIFA, gameplay elements.

I remember the graphics on the first PES for PS2 weren't really revolutionary, kinda like the 360 graphics we see know, and everyone was saying FIFA had better graphics. But when PES2 then PES3 came out, it surpassed FIFA in graphics in my opinion when compared. Just give it time, I reckon we will see much better graphics in PES7. But gameplay is the selling point for me, not graphics and gimmicks.
