listen up....the keepers are fine

ya know, all this bitching about keepers is completely off base and here's why.

keepers determine the score of the game. if the keepers are weak, they allow more goals in...thus higher scoring games (2-3, 2-2, 4-1, etc). if the keepers are strong, they allow fewer goals in...thus lower scoring games (0-1, 0-0, 1-1, etc).

what all the fools out there don't seem to get is that keepers are equal for both people when playing online. if i'm playing an online match against you and PES has weak keepers, then our match will be high scoring (2-3, etc) which results in a more action packed match. your goalie may let some easy shots go by, but the same will happen when you shot at my goalie...he will let some easy shots go by as well...thus making it a wash because our goalies are both equally weak.

the reverse is true if the keepers are strong. it just means that when we play against each other online, then our matches will be really low scoring, but STILL fair and equal because both our goalies are strong.

so who cares if PES has keepers that are weak? or strong? it all balances out because it affects BOTH keepers. to tell you the truth, i like the keepers the way they are now because i like goals. i like seeing my team score. i like seeing my opponent score. fuck if i want to play every soccer game and it turn out 0-0 or 1-0. fuck that! how boring!

even if the keepers allow so many goals through that the scores get up to 5-4...it's still equal and fair in competition because both keepers are designed the same (weak in this case) and allows each offense ample opportunity to score.

so shut the fuck up about the keepers. thanks!

easy with the shut the f*@$ up speech. You follow. The point is people want keepers to play in a simulated way to real football not let every easy shot go by, be ridiculously out of position, or drop everything they stick their mitts on back to the grass. How about that fool.

I rarely get into these type of back and forth with another poster but you need to chill out. THANKS

Totally pointless topic...and far from polite language ... So if both team keepers eat silly goals that's OK ? lol what a logic.

What an intelligent post. May be the most intelligent on the internet.

And what about offline. F00l.:shocking::laugh::no::rolleyes:

My point is when my keeper spills shots the AI often scores on them. When AIs keeper spills shots i rarely get the tap in.

Okay whilst I don't entirely agree with the logic and perhaps the overly aggressive manner (perhaps that's just he speaks mind and means no offence by it) I do agree that I feel people people jump on goalkeepers backs a bit on this game.

I'm going to play devil's advocate here, but here's my defence of the way keepers are, and I've been as frustrating as some people at the 'apparent blunders by goalies'. But here goes.

I believe that what people want in goalkeepers these days is stability. They want a person between the sticks that 100% of the time will do the right thing, and be as consistent as possible and only get beat by genuine good CPU goals where the user can say 'blimey they deserved that goal' and so they can deal with it.

However, here's my problem with it. And I've been guilty of this with regards to keepers in the past. If you want the game to be like a sim, with randomness, balls bouncing everywhere, that element of unpredictability then you must allow for the goalies to play like real life goalies.

Last night AC Milan played Udinese, and Abbiati fumbled a rubbish cross with no pressure on him, Di Natalie tapped it in. De Gea over the last month, anyone see him? What about possibly the worlds best, Reina, fumbled one at Spurs on the weekend? I could name lots of examples where unpredictability kicks in.

The converse is true as well though on this game, the keepers I've seen pull off some truly brilliant saves. I beat Bayern 2-1 with Inter last night, and my keeper was Man of the Match. He made a reflex header off Ribbery inside the box, pulled off a spectacular one handed diving save off Eto, and even the goal he conceded was a bullet shot from Sneijder which went in off the bar (looked fabulous by the way).

Here are my problems with the goalies - when you send them out from their line, they don't attack the actual ball they kind of go at a stupid angle and kind of run at the attacking player, so that's broken. Point number two, in this day and age why can't we control the keepers absolutely. When the keeper gets the ball why can't I move him anywhere I want, and why can't I release the ball as quick as i want. This has plagued my enjoyment for years, it so fkin simple to eradicate.

But as for actual keeper performances I really see no issue. The way the ball moves these days and the power and technique of the shots there are far mor spillages and rebounds than ever before. Anyway there's my defence of them :)

Great post. That sums it up pretty nicely.

Some people expect the goalers to be like Fifa. Guess what? Fifa's keepers are OVERRATED, very superman like.

Seriously, the keepers in pes do make mistakes that they wouldn't in real life, but overall, they are not as bad as some might think.

Yes, the way they spill the ball is sometimes a bit too stupid, but overall, they are quite good in terms of how many times they make a save.

The only thing missing from the keepers are those little touches like the spilling and when sometimes the keeper doesn't calculate the distance to concede a really cheap goal.

I am not saying that the keepers do not need fixing, but they aren't nearly as bad as some people are saying. Honestly.

when the computer has the ball, they aim for the nearest post on a one on one and goalies cant cover there near post on pes but when i have the ball on a one on one, they aim for the keeper or just blast it anywhere so it is not fair as the computer has an advantage

also once i had 7 shots on target and they had 4. guess what, i lost 5-0 as one of their goals wasn't goaing in until my keeper dropped it so it doesnt balance it

And one other reason it's not fair is they always score a free kick which my keeper lets in but when i have a free kick i never score so the game cheats in keepers and ai

Hmm not sure about your last point. I've scored as many free kicks as the CPU I'm afraid. I scored a stunning one first game I ever played, with Robben. It was truly delightful. You know the ones where you hit it so well (not hard, just well) that the keeper's feet were just landed. It went in off the post. And I scored one last night with van der Vaart. And I think I did one with Sneijder. So I think it's about even. I know when Ribbery or Robben get a free kick twenty yards out it's good night though, and Bale scored a stunner against me. But overall, again, it's fair I'd say.

What an intelligent post. May be the most intelligent on the internet.

Maybe we should suggest his user name be MustHaveIQ>21ToPost.

We should expect no less from Texas.

Lets take his premise into different games - Madden: who cares if you #1 receiver drops every pass, as long as the opposing team does the same its all good; NBA: who cares if Kobe shoots less than 1% from the floor, as long as the opposing team's star does the same its all good; MLB - who cares if your pitcher can't throw strikes - as long as the opposing team pitcher does the same its all good.

with the OP's logic we might as well just take out the golies and play with out them... Lets have games with 20-14, 18-12 scores!
