You Know What Pisses Me Off?!

Is when someone heads the ball in from a cross in which I had no chance of stopping! What happens is that guy uses 3-5-2 formation with Ronaldo + Rooney simutaneously heading in from Figo's crosses. My defenders for some reason are never there so not a single chance to stop the crossers.

My formation:

For some reason, my attackers never get a chance to go up...I only have chances to do far shots.

How bout some tips on just beating that 3-5-2? That guy has Figo and Nedved wings and their crosses are annoying as hell!

have tied ZONE PRESS (A) AND LINE DEFENCE?and something else.
in the formation i see above would it be better to draw back MAKELELE in the centre of the center circe and nakata in position you have now MAKELELE? try that friend and let me know if it worked for you.and something else NESTA works better if you put him in the centre of the defence

that's a very attacking formation, for once i think you should draw pyoul back not makalele, also i agree with line defence, put man mark on figo with makalele, fill your midfield by drawing davids back also, try to emulate real football instead of trying to score most goals, i think he gets control of the ball cause he's got a lot of players in midfield so a single 1-2 can do the job of having an attack with around 4 or 5 players on only three, you can also try to do the same thing, you got shearer, rvn and henry try to get more crosses in

You seem way too into attack. You could play a 3-5-2 as well and still have 2 or 3 players always getting ready to attack like this..

..........Striker....Striker

..................Mid..........

.S.Mid........................S.Mid
....................C.Mid
..........D.Mid
.........D.......D......D
...............K

Or you could play a 3-4-3 too keep all your attackers and have your mids placed farther back, so you can still get him on his counter attacks.

Your formation is way too attacking and it's leaving you exposed.
Use a back 4 and you'll be a lot happier in dealing with crosses.
Your OMFs are too wide so get them more central.
Your DMF(s) should be placed halfway between the defense and the halfway line.
Pull your WFs back to where your OMFs currently are and give them forward attack arrows so that they can receive the ball in a good position and then head for goal.

To go for a back 4, you'll have to sacrifice an attacking player. So you'll need to go for either 4-2-2-2 or 4-2-1-3 or 4-2-3-1. Good luck.
Try to man mark Figo with your new SB. If necessary, foul that biatch every time he gets the ball. If your central defenders are tall then you should win the headers at the back against Rooney and Ronaldo (who aren't well known for headed goals).

If that doesn't work, give all of your defenders Attacking arrows that go back towards your own goal.

If someone can show me a link to a blank image of this:
(with no players) I can draw a few formations as suggestions.

Good luck :)

its all about your midfield

ok, I use a slightly different formation, very balanced, its the same 343, with 3 cbt (nesta, samuel, and the one you dont remember), 2 dmf mak and pyol, 2 omf naka, davids and three strikers, its similar to your original formation, but your one looks weak in the midfield. so i suggest you bring the DMF closer to each other and a little backwords, and the same with OMF, this will give you more depth in midfield which helps a lot when defending.
If you are worried about the attack, you can then use the startegy settings to set the position of omfs while you r attacking (red arrows) so whenever you r attacking they will go towards the wings. it is also important to set the dmf so that they will be more deffensive (blue arrows) this is very useful when it comes to defending corner kicks. Try this it might help! It might sound simple but It always worked for me, so either its a good formation or the people I play with are crap :)

Dude that formation is insane i don't want to be too harsh but there is just so many things wrong, its no wonder you get ripped apart especially when he is flooding the MF with 5 players.

Pull Makelele back he plays just in front of the Defense, it's his home - leave him there

As for your two wingers, there is no need for wingers when you have 3 Strikers, you have Davids who should be playing Centraly his strengths are that area - tackling then pushing forward. Nakata should be playing centraly in behind your Central Striker.

Your forwards though (sigh) put Henry on the Side and Ruud or Alan in Centraly, and replace one of them with a different striker with speed who can deliver crosses, use the attacking Arrows to get them to push wide-forward.

As for your defense you can leave it as is, but with so many attacking options already, i'd be putting puyol back in the left back role, with samuel and nesta in center.

Well thank you for helping me. I put this formation from all your opinions and it worked. With this, I played my friend again and beat him 2-0 and 1-0, which felt good. :D So here it is, feel free too add any comment and thanks for the tips.
