Youth team players in ML

I just ended my first season of the ML, and checking my youth team I find I have a 92 rated 20 year old striker... At the beginning of the ML I wanted to save money and chose as my coach a guy that happened to have a 5 in 'spotting talent' and was said to be able to make superstars as his talent...

So if I up my youth team spending to 10 million next year and keep this coach, am I going to keep getting a 90 rated youth team player every year? What have you guys seen? What do you do with your youth team?

Well dude....when I played pes 2010 this happened sometimes, I would say rarely....because it also depends on how fast is the evolution of the player you know...all the players are not the same.

Well its not quite clear yet I should keep the coach and spend 10 million a year on the youth team. Is it worth it?

1. If its more common to get an 80 then I've spent 10 million pounds to pick up an 80 rated player who may or may not grow to a 90. I can buy an 80 rated player for 1-2 million who will cost me with salary ~10 million over 4 or 5 years.

2. Was the level 5 'spotting talent' the reason for getting the good youth player? Have others seen 90+ youth players? This coach isn't good at anything else, so I'm considering hiring a better one.

3. The rest of the players on the youth team were rated in the 50s. Is this always how it works? all 50s one good? Whats your experience?

4. Obviously I can't choose the position and abilities of the good youth player, he may not fit in..

5. How will I feel with a team full of youth players? I never tried for youth players in previous games.. Always wanted to play with 'real' guys.

I did an ML in 2010 using nothing but youth after the first few seasons. Lots of fun! With coaches and Youth Team maxed out, I'd get one crazy good player every three seasons or so, but usually two excellent prospects and a couple more solid squad players almost every year, who I'd typically sell for huge profits after a few seasons of development, making room for new kids.

Read the reports from the coach (assuming they're still in '11). If they say something like "could be as good as BUFFON", they're a pretty safe bet for development, regardless of their current rating. Always look for stand out stats, too. A player may be crappy in most areas, but have exceptional shooting. You can usually develop those players into great specialists. High "basic" stats (Attack, Defense, Teamwork, Mentality) are often good indicators of future potential, too.

I just found out I started my ML with 35 million dollars and a large fan base of 70,000 and a 38th in the world ranking because I took PES United and changed its name to Middlesbrough before starting my Master League. Edit the team name and you get lots more money at ML start as per this link:

...

Now I'm not sure how I should start the ML.. and obviously with less money I won't be able to put 5 million into the youth team. So I'll have to figure out if its worth putting a million in first season.

In 2010 I had a 98 rated WF who was 16.

Almost identical to Ronaldo (who was on my team).

Coincidence that I had Ronaldo on my team, and got a player exactly like him???

Youth Team

Hi, does anyone know if it's best to leave your youth team players in the yourth team to develop or bring them into the senior squad as soon as possible?

I've got a couple in the 40's which is rubbish so I'm wondering if its best to just leave them in the youth team and hope the will suddenly improve or will bringing them into my senior team (but not play them) improve their stats quicker?

Also do players improve quicker if they feature in games or does it not matter if I'm playing them or not so long as I have a decent trainer?

Bit dissapointing considering im ploughing 10mil into the youth team!

Cheers for any help.

Never leave players in youth team if they are high 60s or above. If you think of it this way, youth players who are 70+ are quality enough for almost all first team squads in the game, they have no business being in the youth team with guys in the 40s and 50s who would only develop into being league 1 or League 2 in England at best.

So basically, if you leave a player in your youth team, he won't develop any faster, and eventually he will be dropped from the team (not sure at what point). The only reason I can see leaving a guy in the youth squad is if you wanted to wait to sign him to a long term contract at age 18. But still the system is rubbish, the only real point of the youth system is for you to cherry pick players straight to the first team.

Cheers Montanaro I'll pluck the little buggers out quickly then!

Do you know if they develop quicker if they get games or not?

Cheers

ok ive got another problem now sorry if anyone has an answer that would be great! After getting the above reply I signed 3 youth team players just after the Jan transfer window so they were all promoted and I paid their half a season wages and were due to arrive on the 1st half of week 1 in July but when it comes to the 2nd half of week one in July they do not come and when I go to negotiations to see whats going on it says "negotiations broke down" even though it was completed nearly half a season ago and I paid them wages???? My squad isnt to big as I can still sign other players??

Just as another slap in the face they are no longer in my youth team (all 3 were about 70 and had good potential) and instead now 8 out of 10 of my youth team are rated between 41 - 43 which is dog poo and there is just no point in signing them. is there any way to ditch them without signing them for a year first? I'm just starting my 4th season and ploughed 5mil (lvl 4) into the youth team for the first 2 seasons and 10mil (lvl 5) into it for the 3rd season and the best it gives me is a bloke rated 43..... scandalous! The other 2 that are above 40 are in the 60's and were there from last season so it looks like my 10 million investment did absolutely nothing?!?!

Cheers for any info/views on this, pissed me right off!!
