The actual penalty mechanics look crap as ever though, i would much rather see power bars and 9 areas of placement than moving crowds.

So would I, but I cant control what they come out for with PES. So I got to take what they give me. ;)

It would be good if the height and width of the penalties were determined by the timing of pressing the arrows and the time you hold them down, with the power based on the power bar.

that does sound like a great method, reminds me of serving on virtua tennis and i think that works fine.

i would actually love that but then again it would be near impossible to save penatlies if the GK control was the same.

I strongly feel that you should all listen to the latest podcast. Sounds like things are looking much better.

Having listened to the podcast, i take it ps3 version was disappointing but 360 version was looking better. Although both versions were early builds.

Well the first Demos they played they hated but they was because they were early builds of the game. They were then lucky enough to play a BETA of the game and pretty much said it was amazing.
One guy mentions it being more impressive on the PS3 then the 360 especially the control and feel of the game. Another guy mentioned this could be the game that makes him buy a PS3.

All in all the game did impress them in the end. There is still room for improvement though.

Main points:
- Konami showed an an early demo on the show floor different to the versions played by the press who voted PES2008 the PS3 Game at Leipzig, hence they take back their initially impressions damning the game.
- PS3 version is the leading SKU (hence mabe why the PS3 version they played seems better at this stage than the 360 as noted above)
- PES 2008 beta they played in the press area shits allover PES6 on xbox360. Better animations, gameplay and graphics. Pretty much ignore the demos they showed on the gamefloor.
- FIFA just a touch a bit better than last year. Good graphics. Has better shooting than last year, less scripted and better more manual passing. xbox 360 and PS3 version the same. Still the same game last year though pretty much. If you aint like FIFA 07 you aint gonna like FIFA 08.

I personally went to Leipzig and was disappointed with what i saw there. I seriously cant wat for this game now after listening to their podcast. I cant beleive Konami decided to show a different substandard build of the game on the show floor rather than the more complete version played by the press.

only konami would have 2 different builds for the press and the fans wouldn't they...

They also mentioned how good GT is

It annoys me that they say the PS3 version is better than the 360 version. I do own a 360 an not a PS3, but i still think that they shoud be the same. Afterall, both 360 and PS3 owners are paying the same price for the game, and yet 360 owners get a worse game. It really isn't on. Sort it out Konami.

Why should they hold back and keep both versions the same if one console has a higher specification and more potential to make their game look great?

At the end of the day, I doubt that they will be massively different.

yea i'm going to agree withkevthedrummer, why stop and make them the same when the ps3 blu ray disc can hold a hell of alot more than a disc on 360, it's only rite and plus its being made on the ps3 and ported to the 360, i'm hoping they start to realise how good the ps3 can keep up wiv all the data and go with it. because i'm being honest i've got a 360 and some games having high graphics tht the 360 doesnt seem to be able to cope very much wiv loads of stuff happenin all atr once
