Hi guys
Thanks for all of the messages on here, my first reply because i have got it working and i was having the same problem as a lot of you on here.
I have Windows Vista 64 bit and everything downloaded fine but ingame all the kits were Chelsea White or Chelsea Red.
I have been pulling my hair out trying to work out what it is and i installed the patch from the Konami web site and it worked, i couldnt believe it.
You have to run the Patch as Administrator or it wont let u run it for some strange reason but its great.
Only thing i am trying to come to terms with is playing on an XBOX 360 controller as Vista isnt picking up my PS2 ones.

Thanks alot for your post here, I think this would help quite alot of 64-bit users here. I would be copying this post to the first.
But I am sorry that I would not be able to help you out with the JoyPad Contoller problem as I had never experienced any problems with them.
But I do remember seeing a few threads concerning controller issues, you should check out the problems thread, or do a quick search. If I come across those threads again, I'll remember to send you a notice.

To be honest, I had the same Chelsea kits problem quite a few times when I started patching myself.
But from what you have typed here, I think if any of the .img files are patched, maybe it is only cv_1.img or rv_e.img, but to make sure, i'll have to ask you to download Game Graphic Studio to check if the files has actually been patched. Or to actually record or take screenshots of your patching progress.

New Middlesbrough (small) emblem done.
Since it is a very minor update, I would not be zipping and uploading a whole 30MB+ file just for one small badge.
I would instead give a short instruction on how to install this emblem:
Firstly, you would need Mozilla Firefox to view this type of .png file:
Save the image on your harddrive, then open Game Graphic Studio and open cv_0.img
After opening cv_0.img (click on no when asked if you want "artificial folders"), then locate the very last file at the bottom (flags_64x64_8093.bin) and click on it, click on OK when prompted, you may need to have numerous attempts to open this file properly.
Once opened, find the (old) Middlesbrough badge and in the middle of the screen (with the Game Graphic Studio logo), right click and click open, then locate the saved middlesbrough emblem. Once the emblem is loaded on GGS, drag and drop it onto the old middlesbrough emblem.
Close GGS and everything should work fine.

ok, if anybody finds to solution to my problem ( i have to manually load the settings from the edit menu every time i start the game or it remains the same) please post it...i tried to search for the solution around here but with no result...also i messed with the settings..again no result..i know other ppl have it I just don't know if anybody solved it

I have a slight issue, which is following the tut there, cv_1.img wont patch properly, and it means none of the kits are patched :/
The other 2 work fine and it all looks fantastic. So, if somebody could send me the patched cv_1.img file possibly, it would be great.

can someone upload the completed patched files to a torrent site attach a link on this thread please. I've been facing prob after prob. This would be great if someone can do this please. I will help them seed the the file out once i have it on my harddrive.

Hi.. I got a little sugestion, is there a posibility to change the names of the classic players(hidden) in ML, to real players, like talents from around the world or some well known players that play in other teams? I think it would be a huge improvement at this already great patch..

Sorry I can't help man, I really thought it was the settings.exe configurations.
You should probaly repeat this question on the problems thread but only if you have made sure this has not been posted before.
Was there an error message of any kind when you attempted to patch cv_1.img
Also keep in mind that cv_1.img may not require a second file rebuild.
I haven't really created torrents before, but I don't think I would be able to for a while even if I can cause i'm downloading big batches at the moment.
But if someone else can upload the files, I'd appreciate it...also keep in mind the files combined are 2.2GBs
Also, we should ask if we are allowed to do this even though I'm pretty sure we are allowed to share torrents of this kind.
Thats a cool suggestion, and but I don't think I'll be taking it on as I don't really have enough time.
But if would like to edit your own files, you can try downloading a program called 'Verter' which converts the stats of players from Football Manager to PES stats.

To anyone who has issues with all the kits being chelsea, when you are prompted to patch make sure you have ticked ALL the boxes and not just clicked "select all". If you click select all it will leave a few boxes unticked which is the problem. TICK ALL BOXES then click "patch".
I've just worked this out as I was having the same problem.

I installed all the 3 patches ....the kits nd emblems for the premier league r fine but thrs 1 problem...in the coca cola championship i am gettin all the emblems right i.e. of charlton, southampton nd the rest but the team names and team players are of ligue 1......pls help...

Hey thanks very much for this. I am unfortunatly having problems. All the kits are the Chelsea kits. I will try and re-patch it. Although I did notice that when I put my 'PES2008_OPTION01' and 'PES2008_EDIT01' into the save file they were OK. Then, because I'm having problems, I decided to take them out of the save file to see what would happen, but nothing has changed in the game. It's still the same Chelsea kits etc. So maybe I've done something wrong with the 'PES2008_OPTION01' and 'PES2008_EDIT01'. I think i read somewhere that you have to delete your old option file or something. Do you know where I can find my old option file?

Yup, there seems to be a minor bug when we try to import patches when the 'Select All' button is clicked, the first dozen or so boxes are left unchecked.
It is very important to have all the boxes checked.

you need to copy/cut both PES2008_OPTION01.bin and PES2008_EDIT01.bin to My Documents/KONAMI/Pro Evolution Soccer 2008/save (your previous personally edited files and progress would be deleted)
The PES2008_OPTION01.bin and PES2008_EDIT01.bin has nothing to do with the kits (unless the PES1008_EDIT01.bin has previously edited kits) but are essential in terms of having the right players for each team.
But at the moment, I don't really have much of an idea what went wrong in the patching process. Firstly, I reccommend you should try to re-patch the whole thing with fresh .img files from the DVD or ISO.
If the problems continue after that, then I would need you to download Game Graphic Studio (GGS) version 7.40 and go through a few seperate files and to hopefully see which .img files are unpatched.

Hi again Deckz. Ok I'm just in the middle of re-patching now and I'm a bit confused on the tutorial; "6.AFS would then begin the unpackaging, and if you are prompted to reserve space for some files, click yes and just like the process in 'step 3', save the file with a different name or in a different location." So does that mean I save this file the same name as ("3.Now find your cv_0.img file in your PES2008 directory, once you have found and attempted to load it, it may ask if you would like to rebuild the file, click yes and save it with a different name (eg. cv_0a.img), or save it in another safe location.") cv_0a.img? Or is this a different file?
