What are your all-time Favorite Game Soundtracks?

I have played many a games, some had absolutely shite music(most of you might know how shite PES2008's soundtrack is) while on the other hand, some have appropriate soundtracks.

The two songs that spring to my mind are 'Like this, like that' and 'Aisle 10', both from the XBOX game, Jet Set Radio Future.

GTA doesn't really count as it aint their own music. I would probably say Pro Evo 2 (awesome rave music - I wish I could get my hands on it!) or Metal Gear Solid

G33k, so in your eyes, even FIFA08 doesn't count, since there's a song called 'Butterfly' by 'Superbus'. :rolleyes:

I thought soundtrack was just any sounds/music that accompannied (sp?) the game.

The GTA series, obviously, had some great soundtracks, VC and SA in particular. I also loved the Max Payne theme tune, so much so that I ended up using it as music for a media project a year or so back in school. I actually used the music from the MP2, more dramatic.

If we're talking about original music then Canis Canem Edit, TimeSplitters and Metal Gear Solid. Otherwise, it's most certainly one of the GTAs.

When it comes to original music then I have to go with Final Fantasy series as well as Shadow of the Colossus close behind - the ending theme was great.

Licensed music then I would have to go with Grand Theft Auto: Vice City simply because it was great hearing all those 80's music again. I would drive for ages just to listen to the radios.

Well, I just think you can't hold in-game music to the same standard as licensed music. Is the whole soundtrack for FIFA licensed?

I'd say so, FIFA 06 and 07 had brilliant soundtracks but FIFA 08's one sucks apart frm da hoosiers. Smackdown vs Raw 07 had a gud soundtrack but dat waz mainly bcuz of three days grace. All da gta's av had gud soundtracks, especially SA.
