Just re-installed the game. I am gonna put an update on, can anyone recommend me a good one?

Also, could someone refresh my memory on how to do it, I've forgot? Something to do with WINRAR if I remember correctly.

Thanks guys.

EDIT - I just clicked on look for updates on the FM Main Menu, and it took me to where it should, the SI site. And I got a little message saying, we have detected a now download. Unfortunately our database cannot find it.

Any help quickly please?

Sorry about the double post, but I'm getting pissed off looking and not finding anything.

Can anyone not help?

I'm assuming it's not a legal copy of the game so I'll do what I can to help.

I don't have the links for the updates on hand but I think they're in Wan's sig. I'll try and send you whatever else you need in a pm but im busy so it may take a while

Edit

For all you need, sortitoutsi is probably your best bet

It is a legal copy of the game. I don't do copied/downloaded games.

Thanks for the help Sully, I shall be patient over the pm =]

EDIT - Nifty, you are perhaps the biggest prick on this earth. Do you not think I've tried it you fucking idiot.

Honestly? No. Because if you type those exact words into Google and perform a search, the very first result links to a sub-page of fm08.footballmanager.net, upon which is provided a link to the official SI community forum. In that thread, there are links to all the latest patches, for all the formats.

So no, no I don't think you've tried that.

Well I'm sorry to inform you that yes, I did try it.

And I actually clicked on the site before, but there is that much bullshit, and that many links to other things it's a piss take.

I am sorry that I am not a fucking Google/FM2008 whizz kid. Really, I am sorry that we aren't all like you.

It doesn't require you to be either a Google or FM2008 whizkid.

Performing a simple Google search using a query is something that the average 10-year-old can perform, and so I'd expect you to be able to do that.

Clicking on the very first link is the logical way to look for something, and again - this logic could be expected to be employed by anyone aged 10 and above.

Clicking the first link brings you to the SI news site. The largest "portion" of the screen is titled "FM News" - it's not exactly hidden away somewhere. Along the top there's a variety of choices (news, downloads, softography, etc.) and there's an advert down the right-hand-side of the page - but other than that, it's pretty difficult to miss the big red letters that say "8.0.2 Football Manager patch released." From there, the first page's main news bulletin tells you in layman's English exactly how to get the download - and even gives you a link.

That link brings you to a forum, and I assumed that considering you're completely capable of posting 2,987 messages of utter tripe on here, you'd be more than comfortable browsing around it. Not that you need to browse - the link provided on the SI News site takes you straight to the correct thread, wherein you can find a set of downloads for Football Manager 2008 (both PC and Mac - clearly marked), Worldwide Soccer Manager 2008 (the international version of the game, so irrelevant) and Futbol Manager (again, irrelevant).

The thread gives you exact directions (did you even bother to read it?) on how to get the download, and the step-by-step instructions are foolproof.

Would you like me to come around to your house, install it for you and then say "here you go, mate - have fun!" ???

Would you like me to play the game for you as well?

Stop acting like a fucking vegetable. If you're capable of getting someone knocked up and acting like Mr. Big Bollocks, I expect you to be capable of performing a Google search.

EDIT: Maybe the very last bit was a bit harsh - but I've just given you (if you remove the random insults and so on) directions on how to get the patch. If you still can't do it, maybe you don't deserve to be playing an updated version of the game.

I'm in need of help, is there anyway I can get it to play in windowed mode on mac like the thing on windows when it doesn't allow you to do it in game?

I have won 20 out of 20 at home this season so far, in early March. Fourteen in the league, four in the Champions league and two in the Coppa Italia. Eighteen points clear in the league too- only dropped eight points. Went nine games in a row without conceding at one point as well, old skool Italian football that.

i hate the "fan feedback" on this game it really gets on my nervs, i won the league cup and the facup and the euro cup (i think thats ment to be the uefa cup) i think i finished9th in the league and the fan spokesman was not impressed in the slightest and the board was only "satisfied" with me, the team i used was bolton wanderers. i think that is a pretty successfull season for BWFC what a crock of shit that is!!! lol

There doesn't seem to be much value for money when buying players of top quality. You can either spend £40m on a world class player, or £7m on someone not quite good enough. I'm probably going to spend £20m on a midfielder this summer though.

And, my perfect home record is gone. I had won all 23, but I've just been held by Torino; the team who ended my 100% Serie A start after about 14/15 straight wins. They aren't even that good :(

Still, I'm in for all six competitions still though. Won the European Super Cup, Italian Super Cup, Club World Championship and the Serie A with five games left. I'm in the semis of both the Coppa Italia and the Champions League, and I am in favourable positions going into the second legs against Modena and Juve respectively.
