Yeah there are a lot smoother animations but they seem to me to still be animated and not mo-capped. Look like PES2009 running animations with extra frames added.

I think it looked better than that.:)
As for the messi cross and henry goal. The animation was a bit off, but it can happen in real life. In serie A it happens alot. So it is realistic.
BTW the video that chinaman posted of pes is looking really good. Defending is much improved and the game seems to be smoother.

no way the messi cross is possible, the running angle and body angle is all wrong the speed of the ball and the way it moves through the air is wrong too.... yes its possible to cross with the outside of the foot but not like that, he stabs at it like a chip...

Yeah, he flicks the ball with the outside of his boot in that PES video as opposed to swinging his leg, which is what is required to belt a ball that far with the outside of the boot.

As long as it isn't as accurate everytime, then I don't mind to be completely honest, I can't see every player being able to do so, possibly just Messi and few others as part of a special "card" ability involving the outside of the boot.

ive havent seen a player stab the ball without drawing the leg back, and hitting the ball in that spot, making the ball go that fast and in that direction.

First time ever? I'm agreeing with you here.

In the PES video, Messi "stabs" at the ball with his foot, he doesn't swing his leg back further than 30cm. No matter what, it's impossible to kick a ball 30+ yards with that much power and swerve, simply by flicking your foot against the ball - you need to swing your leg. Had Messi swung his leg back and "then" connected with the outside of his boot - not a problem really. But to literaly flick his foot without any real swing, and kick the ball so accurately over 30+ yards is a touch ridiculous.

But like I said just previously, as long as it isn't a common occurance, I'm not really bothered.

Also to put any swing on a ball your foot needs to come around it to put the spin on it...
