Just a suggestion:
How about we use this thread to throw in all the links, news, screens, videos etc. of both PES10 and FIFA10 for comparison from Gamescom?
Then use another thread for discussing and only use this one here for all the the above mentioned.
It would make it so much easier to overlook - now that we'll potentially get bombarded with news etc. - to keep it all i one "small" thread without responses but just links, vids etc.

Then if you've been away for some hours or a day, you would just be able to jump into this thread and find all the news, without having to read through hundreds of posts about which game is the better and so forth...

Anyway - just a proposal. ;o)

this has already been posted tech.......anyhow, whilst im here, looks good to me, original gameplay seems to be in tact, its perhaps looks a little bit quicker than i expected but im happy with that. Havent spotted too many new animations yet? Watching a video is great but until the demos comes out ill reserve my full judgement!

ha, just spotted the linesman in game...unless im going mad, there wasnt one in 09 was there? (apart from when given offside)

It looks like either the guys playing in those videos do nothing but sprint everywhere and sprinting is 8-way, or it is the X-360 version and they aren't using the Analogue Stick.

Seems to be lot of 8-way movement in those vids but I have seen some 360º flashes like in the original video with the musical intro around 1:15 where the French player is running into the box but is offside.

Waiting for a video of someone who can play the game properly without sprinting everywhere ;)

The first video which is being branded about fills me with hope to be honest, the next two videos are barely visible so I won't comment on them. I'll be merging all these threads into one big Gamescom thread I think and we'll keep all the new videos in the first post as well so people new to the site can immediately see everything. Here's what I have just said regarding the first video though in the other thread which sums my thoughts up nicely at the moment:

"Looks excellent to be honest. Graphically very impressive and it looks a hell of a lot more fluent and free flowing with the new 360 degree movement system.

You can see there is new slide tackling animation as well with a last ditch slide in the box winning the ball, it looked wonderful. Another plus point is the hit detection for collisions looks up to scratch as well, as around the 2:55 mark, two French players collide with each other and react accordingly.

Anyone else notice the nets too? From what I could notice, they looked to be a completely different shape in the sense that they weren't like a box shape, the back sloped down a bit - quite like an old school style of net, and in the video, the net colour looks blue, possibly representing France?"

Having played FIFA this year, I personally really miss the justling-animations when batteling for the ball though... Just makes it seem so much more life-like.
Apart from that I think it looks ok! I'm not blasted away by it, but keeping in mind all the new additions with player cards and all, then when we get two gamers who can actually play the game without sprinting all the time, we just might be in for a treat!

Yeah definitely, you've brought up a good point there, both these players in the first video, but especially the guy controlling Germany is shockingly bad at the game. They really aren't doing it justice to be honest, but no doubt plenty more videos will be released in the coming days of skilful players that might make our mouths water (hopefully). :)

^True, the players playing it aren't that good.
From the videos, the defending and the AI are clearly much better. Defenders close down better and the game is not attack minded. Also the AI seems much harder to pass by and they are more intelligent. It reminded me of pes 6 to be honest. The animations are better but I cannot say for sure because the quality and frame rate of those videos isn't good enough. I won't comment on the pace until I see a proper video nto a video taken with some camera because that causes framerate problems so the pace will vary.
