The worst goal keepers in any football game ever.

I never pressed any button, I was just waiting for the keeper to collect the ball. I didn't expect that. Anyway it doesn't matter, my copy of FIFA 11 arrived yesterday and I f'ing love it. It has its faults but in every aspect the game is far superior to PES. To see how far PES 2011 is behind the competition now almost makes you feel sorry for Konami, almost, then you remember that its their own slack lazy ass fault.

My major gripes with FIFA 11 are the difficulty of through balls, though I will switch them to manual tomorrow and see what happens. The other is the Career Mode is only 15 seasons long. But it is a real joy to play a game with proper player movement, passing, an actual level of understanding of the game of football, protecting the ball with your body etc. Brilliant.

I played PES again after a game or two on FIFA and it was like a cartoon in comparison, I thought perhaps this is the joke version and the real game must be coming out later. Utterly outclassed in every aspect of gameplay. The depth of FIFA also amazed me, the customization and the options are on a different planet compared to P** Ev*.

Looking forward my main concern is now that PES is so inferior, FIFA will get lazy and not improve the game each year, as PES is inevitably following TIF and Actua Soccer onto the scrap heap. Hopefully someone like 2K will bring out a game in the near future to keep some sort of competition.

I may rent PES2012 next year to see if there is some improvement, but I doubt it. I'm off to play a proper game.

My advice to everyone here is that if you have a console and don't have FIFA yet get it, and see if you actually want to play PES again. If you are a football obsessive like I am, it will be Pro Evo who?

FUCK YOU SHINGO SEABASS YOU LAZY FAT BASTARD.

Sheer quality!

I actually think pes2011 is the best pes since I stopped playing it on the ps2!
All keepers in real life make mistakes, so for me it's not a problem!

People like you are the reason this game has gone down the toilet. You accept such pathetic game play faults and ask for more next year.

Dude,

you like FIFA.. we get it.. well go play it..

I, like many others prefer PES style of play over FIFA and theres many who share your views too..

all im saying is to please respect the fact that others may not feel the same as you, therefore you have no right to impose your views trying to make your vision the definitive one.

Remember your on a PES forum not a FIFA one..

I feel PES has a much steeper learning curve to get the best from it and it takes time..

If I didnt have time then id probably go for a quick pick up and play title to last me 3 or 4 months.

But for me the pros and cons in both FIFA and PRO vary and the choice of game depends on what game has the cons that you cant live with..

So to clarify..it seems you dislike PES because the cons for you outweigh the pros.. and im assuming FIFA is the opposite for you..

Thats fine in the land of free opinion. Im the opposite to you..

Lets move on..

ps the keepers are not as bad as people like to moan..
Im fine with them.. I think if the keepers became super hard then the ratio of shots saved would be like an ice hocky match and then the game would become frustratingly hard

Then people would moan that its too hard..

Errrm, excuse me?!?! That's my opinion and I'm entitled to it. Moron!
I have played the PES series since it was called ISS Pro Evolution Soccer!
Yeah the game has it's flaws, but Konami have improved the game compared to PES2010.

And I actually don't mind the fact that most Premier League sides have fake names and crappy kits! But I enjoy editing and getting ideas from other PES Gamers.... And quite frankly making the game my own.

So you have your opinion - which I accept and respect, but don't you dare tell me it's because of people like me the game has gone down the toilet!

Just so you know, my favourite film is Napoleon Dynamite. Is that okay with you, dick head?

I didn't say you can't have an oppinion. But people who let Konami get away with such sloppy programming and say its 'ok, and I don't mind' ARE the reason PES is going to shit. Because unless people get on Konami's backs and say pull your finger out, they will just keep doing the bare minimum each year.

The more I played PES2011 I realised it is just a tweaked PES2010 with a new passing system. Anyone who actually watches football closely will see in no way does this game deserve the tag of simulation.

- Protection of the ball with your body
- Player movement
- Propper marking from set pieces (not two foot midgets marking Crouch)
- Long crosses that don't go out of play every time
- AI that don't go to a more defensive strategy when they are losing

These are among some of the things PES doesn't have.

If you want an arcadey kick about game then fine, but PES was, and is supposed to be a football SIMULATION. Maybe someone should remind Konami of that.

And by the way, I am not a FIFA fan, I am a PES fan who is fucked off with how lazy and shit this game has got over the years. There once was a time when FIFA couldn't lace PES' boots, what a shame.

I posted this in another thread with regards to keepers...

I disagree about the GK's, the last thing we want is fifa 11 keepers where stats are irrelevant and they can pull of saves at all angles. Aspects of the keepers on pes aren't great but overall I feel they are fairly organic and the ratio of saves to mistakes is realistic.

At times I agree there are some illogical mistakes that seem to be down to poor coding, overall though I am happy with the keepers.

How do we know in the video clip the OP wasn't pressing triangle to bring the keeper forward, which would send him out of position to make it seem like the keeper was just randomly making a big error?

Anyone can manipulate a game to make out there are flaws where there is none. This guy just wants to troll.

If you're so happy with fifa althlon why are you here on these forums posting shit? Why not just move on? Or are you on a mission trying to recruit members to join you in your decision to move to fifa?

Actually, making the game good is supposed to be Konami's job. Not the gamers. Soon as they figure that bit out we might get somewhere.

That is the truth, however, it is the very same case with PES and FIFA.

We have a lot of PES players complaining about "cheaters" yet the "cheaters" are allowed to do whatever the game allows them to do, which makes it a fault of the game, not a fault of the player; these video games depend entirely on the ability of the player to enjoy a video game where their actual ability is undermined by a computer, in order to genuinely enjoy it, you have to pretend that your manual ability is the decisive factor.

A "cheating" player who exploits cheap tactics has the power of making PES11 an unpleasant experience for "fair" players who prefer to pretend that a half-baked video game can be played correctly, yet the fact remains that making the game a pleasant experience is the job of the producer, not the job of the gamer.

With PES we have a pretentious video game, where the producer pretends that by making simple things more difficult to do you have a more difficult and rewarding video game, yet the source of substance and the source of entertainment does not improves just because you made the same old thing a little more difficult to pull off.

With FIFA we have a more pick up and play game with the same problem, the source of substance and the source of entertainment is outdated, it doesn't matter if the game feels fluid and polished from a technical standpoint, at the end of the day, the substantial aspect of the game is shit.

Point being that the EXECUTION as in buttons that you use the most in order to play the game, are the same as always, work the same way they have always worked: adding more directions to the same old thing is not revolutionary nor will it fix the old flaws.

My experience with the game has been horrible.
I play in master league. Lost 3 out of 4 game by one goal when my keeper left the net to take a piss in a corner. This always happen after a scramble in front of goal. Do I do something wrong or this game is fraud?

you gotta be kidding me
this game or at least my game suffers from super keepers.

They never ever ever misjudge when to come off the line for a cross or through ball. They always collect the ball right off the toes of my striker. They will come out for everything thats gettable and never when they won't reach it, no real life goalie would have such perfect judgement and aggression to come off the line.

Then theres the super 'AI decides it wants to win' phases where they'll make 2 or 3 unbelievable point blank saves in a row and then your next shot hits the post.

Sure theres the odd glitch but in general I think the keepers are overpowered.
No I don't have issues with difficulty, 3 seasons into ML and top of the league (Napoli in Serie A), but just saying I think keeper glitching is far less a problem than perfect keeper judgement.
