FIFA 12 Demo Comparisons/Impressions with PES 2012 Demo
Truth be told, its actually my first time trying fifa since the Playstation 1 days. I sorta knew that the crossing/shooting button was opposite of pes. Sprint was R2 button instead of R1. The only difficulty was the defensive part.
As what i've played, the animations; like most people said, are much better than pes 2012. Shooting feels good, and passing has that bit of consistency within it compared to pes 2012 demo. The collision system is brilliant; though i must say that proper coding needs to be implemented for it to be properly balanced. The new defensive aspect of the game is pretty fun and interactive; the x button becomes the new pressure button, and you had to time the o button to tackle.
The AI is pretty bad. After a few games getting used to the new controls; i decided to challenge myself to the legendary difficulty.
I noticed that if you used to x button to jockey and r1 button for teammate button properly; while most importantly covering passing lanes; the opposition ai could not even get a shot in. There was no creativity at all. The only times when the AI could actually have a chance was when I make a mistake in the defence.
The Defensive AI is poor. Though legendary difficulty manages to track 1-2 runs; AI covering and marking is absolutely poor. EA toned down the pressure; though that meant that keeping the ball was that so much easier.
PES 2012 AI in the first demo was trully revolutionary; the jockeying and the one on one system is completely brilliant. The only gripes i have in the demo is the idiotic goalkeeping and the defensive responsiveness and physical colision between the defenders and attacker; it seems as though its far to easy for the person dribbling the ball to pass the defender with little or no contact. The second demo promised better goalkeeping and defending; so i remain optimistic about the final product.
For me at least PES had hit the gameplay spot on this year; for PES 2013 animations should be greatly improved and extra interactive additions to the gameplay would be superb.
